Question:

We are looking to purchase a 18k Demco Slider. We have a 2022 Ford F250 short box without the factory prep. The trailer has a Curt air ride pin box. What items will I need to go with the slider to accomplish the correct setup?

Hey Bob, thanks for writing in, and let's start with the hitch for your 2022 Ford F-250. You made a superb choice going with the Demco, as the Autoslide is as good as it gets for a sliding hitch. There are options for both 18,000 lb capacity and 21,000 lb capacity, and I'll give you part numbers for both, as well as the custom base rail kit that fits your '22 F-250:

- 18,000 lb Capacity: Demco Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider # DM8550034

- 21,000 lb Capacity: Demco Autoslide 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ Slider # DM8550035

- Demco Premier Series Above-Bed Base Rails and Custom Installation Kit # DM8552031-71

That'll give you the hitch and rails, then because you have an Air Ride pin box you'll also need capture plates, the Demco Autoslide Capture Plates # DM6171.

These work for both Rota-Flex and Air Ride pin boxes, and are longer than the capture plates that come with the Autoslide, which is why they are needed. The only other thing you'll need to tow your 5th wheel is a harness, the Curt 5th Wheel/Gooseneck Custom Wiring Harness for Aluminum Beds # C57010.
