This hitch takes care of tight turns for you. The built-in automatic slider gives you 14" of travel front to back, so the trailer moves away from the cab when you turn and returns to center when you straighten out. The rack-and-pinion gear system handles the sliding motion smoothly and consistently, eliminating the need to pull a release lever or hop in and out of the truck during every backing maneuver.
The wraparound, single-hook jaw design grips the king pin with full 360-degree contact for a tight, secure hold. A 3/4" solid steel locking bar reinforces that connection and automatically locks when the jaw closes. This setup minimizes rattle and chucking while giving you a steady, quiet ride on rougher stretches of road.
The double-pivot head moves front to back and side to side, letting it align naturally as you back into the pin box. Three polyurethane dampeners absorb road shock and cut down on noise, so towing feels steady instead of jerky. The head pivots into place automatically when you couple up, making hookups smoother every time.
The hitch comes pre-assembled and installs using the included underbed mounting kit. Bolt on the side plates, set your chosen height—15-1/2", 16-3/4", or 18-1/4"—and lock it into the receivers with the built-in handles and safety pins. When you’re not towing, unlock the same handles and lift it out to clear your bed completely.
With a gross towing weight rating of 21,000 lbs and a vertical load limit of 5,250 lbs, this heavy-duty steel hitch is ready for serious fifth-wheel trailers. The rust-resistant black powder coat adds protection against wear, keeping it dependable trip after trip.
This fifth-wheel trailer hitch is not compatible with Sidewinder or Revolution king pins. Do not use any device that changes the pivot point of your trailer's king pin with this hitch.

Today we're going to take a look at the replacement side plates for the Demco Hijacker Autoslide fifth wheel trailer hitches, and this is for the underbed mount. Now this will replace the side plates that came standard with your Demco Hijacker Autoslide underbed fifth wheel trailer hitch. They are designed to bolt onto your hitch base so that you can attach your hitch to the custom underbed rails. This is designed to fit the 13,000 pound Hijacker, Part Number DM8550041. It also fits the 18,000 pound Hijacker, DM8550022, and the 21,000 pound Hijacker, DM8550037 models. This is a simple bolt-on installation to your hitch base. There are multiple rows of bolt holes on these side plates and on your hitch base, so depending how you line them out, it will let you adjust the hitch height.
The hitch height settings will go from either 15-1/2 inches to 16-3/4 and 18-1/4, so you have your choice of those three settings to get your trailer and tow vehicle as level as possible. These do have a rust-resistant black powder coat finish. They are an all-steel construction. It does include the instructions. It will include the mounting hardware, and it also includes two 1/4-inch spacers and two 3/8-inch spacers, and the spacers are used for adjusting your hitch mount with the bed pockets of your truck, and this part is made in the U.S.A. The way that these would open up is you just pull the clip, pull the pin out, and you can see each one of these will rotate out, and when you rotate those out, it will let you drop it into your underbed mount, and then once there, you just turn this back in to lock it, and then put your clip right through there just like that. Easy to install.
Hitch appears to be well-constructed and sturdy. I have not yet installed it. Some assembly is required, and the instructions aren't crystal clear. Better illustrations would be helpful. The videos online are the best source of installation information. Shipping materials lack protection. The powder coating was damaged in a few locations, as well as the instructions. I expect the hitch will operate exactly as designed a long as I protect the exposed parts from the inevitable elements. Rubber grommets would be a nice addition to the holes drilled in the truck bed.
Timely delivery. Product was very well packaged. All parts where clearly marked and instructions are well writen.
Just as described. Install was very easy.it had one base rail missing and called and talked to Sheila and she sent another one out. Had to set up our camper for a new job we are starting and needed the part in two days. She overnighted it and it was here on time.

Hitch sucks pain in the assembly to connect and disconnect.
Not to difficult to install. It will require 2 people to get the bolts torqued down. Handles a 14000 lb fifth wheel with ease
Great design. Installation wasn't bad at all (plan on buying a carbide drill bit). Hole plugs just cheap plastic.
Only issue I ran into with my truck is that using the supplied measurements the back holes hit 1/4 on the bed rail. Still large enough to install the cross bars and hitch but something to be aware of. Truck was a 2006 F250 lariat 2wd with 6.5 box
Hitch looks great and functions great as well. Installation could’ve been smoother due to the installation instruction measurements being slightly off. Look at finding hole caps that are 3” instead of two and drilling the larger hole.
Installed the kit on my 08 ford f350 srw crewcab diesel. Fit fine. Well made. I just think the passengers side center bolt washer/extension piece was welded on the wrong side. I did a backyard fix , buy cutting a small filler piece out of steel so the frame plate wouldn't suck up to the frame and bend. Otherwise, good strong steel
Hitch works great. Had some issues using it when I first got it with putting the pin to lock down the handle but its worked much better lately. The hitch is heavy so I leave it in the back of the truck. Wish I could remove it so it doesn't get weathered.

Perfect fit. Planned ahead and had put on an Airlift 5000 with the auto level system. Adding this under bed mount for my hijacker auto slide on my 2015 F250 was simple and bolted right up with my airbags.
etrailer customer service was great in helping me make sure all the parts I ordered won’t play nice together.
After a year, I still like my Demco autoslide. It works great. I have pulled my trailer quite a few times and have had no issues at all. I know quite a few people that pull 5th wheels and one actually went out and purchased a autoslide after watching mine work.
Instructions left alittle to interpretation when it came to hitch height in the bed of the truck. For a f350 super duty it is the medium set up. Save you some time and effort. Other then that it looks great and will be testing it out this weekend.

This hitch has been used daily since i purchased it. I deliver fifth wheel travel trailers all over the country. This hitch has worked flawlessly from day one. This hitch is one of the only products that I've ever bought that is exactly what it was described to be. Im not one to do reviews, so the fact that im doing this one , in itself, says a lot about the quality of your product. The design and looks are much better than any other hitch ive seen. It just looks better in the truck bed than others do.
The under bed rail kit was easy to install. It provides easy removal and installation of the Demco Autoslide 5th wheel hitch. I could not be more pleased with the Demco products. I recommend getting the Demco 5th Wheel Lifting Bracket

Great product , easy to understand instructions, and a perfect fit. Customer service was also top notch had a problem with the first order missing rail fell out of the box in transit , no fault on etrailer, they sent me a new order before the old one was picked up!
