Question:
I have a 2008 Chevy 2500HD with 6.5foot bed. I am currently using the BandW companion slider hitch that pins into my BandW hide a ball. I also have a superslide 2900 that I am told will not work with my BandW hide a ball. I would need to purchase the superslide 4400 in order to accomplish my goals. What I am wandering is if the Demco would be a better hitch than the superslide 4400? Then my next Question is does demco have an adapter or under bed mount that would allow me to keep my BandW hide a ball?

Expert Reply:
The design of the B&W under-bed gooseneck install kit # BWGNRK1067-5W that accepts their Companion hitch # BWRVK3400-5W in your 2008 Chevy 2500HD short-bed does not allow use of another slider hitch, nor use of any type of adapter to allow an industry-standard type hitch to mount. You will need to completely remove the entire B&W system in order to install a Demco kit.
For a Demco under-bed installation kit you will use kit # DM8551004 and either 18K slider hitch # DM8550022 or 21K hitch # DM8550037. Both of these auto-slide hitches provide 14-inches of travel as compared to 12-inches for the B&W.
