How to Connect Weber Traveler Grill to RV Quick-Disconnect Fitting

Updated 05/26/2025 | Published 10/14/2021

Question:

I have a Weber Traveler grill that uses the 1lb propane bottles. I want to hook this up to my quick connect on my RV. What connections do I need and would I need to remove regulator from the weber?

You'll be able to connect your Weber Traveler Grill directly to that quick-disconnect fitting using a hose like the MB Sturgis # 100476-120-MBS as long as your grill doesn't have a regulator. If it does have a regulator then you need a tee fitting like part # 103537-MBS so you can tie into the propane before the regulator.

If you were to run your grill through 2 regulators then the pressure would be too low and the grill wouldn't run properly.

Attached is a helpful article that goes over some of this in a little more detail for you to check out.

The Weber Traveler is designed for disposable bottles and does have an integrated regulator attached to the control valve. Weber apparently does not make a conversion and I would not expect warranty coverage to continue if modified. Apparently they now do offer a low pressure QD traveler, but these suckers are expensive. A company called Converta T makes a kit specifically for the Traveler (might be a product for an awesome company like E Trailer to carry). Essentially it’s a male/female QD hose, and a few inches of flexible hose with a male QD on one end, and threads that screw into the flame control valve on the other (where the stock regulator threads to the flame control valve). And it comes with thread sealant and even some bubble leak detector. Personally I like that the hose can quick detach from the grille, and the stub of hose to make getting to that connector easier. Naturally you couldn’t hook to a disposable propane bottle or the propane tank to disposable type adapter hoses, as it now needs post-regulator pressure. I like to use mine off a 30# tank when I’m at home, but a propane tank+regulator+female QD would let me plug into a 30# tank at home- same as you’d plug it into your rv. Sorry about the long post, but hope that’s helpful. Search engines these days seem to ignore parts of what you searched for, even if in quotes, in favor for sponsored results.
