Following up on this. 2019 Grand Caravan WD hitch specs The scaled tw is 480 lbs dead and trailer weight is 2480. WD hitch is rated for 500 so that cuts it pretty close. Thanks

You can use a weight distribution hitch for your 2019 Dodge Grand Caravan with a 480 lb tongue weight. The hitches for this vehicle all have a maximum 5,000 lbs towing/500 lb tongue weight capacity, like you mentioned:

Though you are close to the capacity, so long as you are under the 500 lb tongue weight it is safe, but you will need a weight distribution hitch. For a 480 lb tongue weight the best value for its combination of quality and price is the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution with 2-Point Sway Control # FA92-00-0800.
