Question:
Yes, I have a 1996 Ford F150 XLT WITH A 4 FLAT. I want to pull a covered trailer with 2 axles with breaks. What is the easy way to get this done and install a break controller. I dont want to cut a bunch of wires.

Hey John, thanks for reaching out!
If the 4-Way on your 1996 Ford F-150 is from the factory then the only wire splicing you'll need to do is with the Adapter # 37185, which plugs into your 4-Way and then you'll connect the rest of the wires to the wire bundle at the back of your truck.
Once that's connected all you'll do is plug in a pigtail adapter and your brake controller under the driver's side dash of your truck! If you don't already have the brake controller, then I recommend the Tekonsha Prodigy P2 # TK42UR. This comes with the adapter you need for your truck and is one of the most well-known controllers on the market due to it being reliable and easy to use.
Please feel free to reach back out if you have any other questions!
