Weight Distribution Hitch for Pop-Up Camper With 2,000 lb GVWR
Question:
I have a 2006 Viking epic 2308 st. I’ve read before that weight distribution hitches aren’t compatible with many pop up campers. Can you help explain if they do or don’t work? I’m towing with a 2008 Chrystler Town and Country touring. Thank you!

Weight distribution hitches are compatible with pop-up campers so long as they have a trailer frame that is up to 6 inches tall and a place for the brackets that is 27" to 30" back from the center of your coupler.
If your 2006 Viking 2308 has that then it is compatible with a weight distribution system. According to my research your camper has a GVWR of slightly over 2,000 lbs; I recommend verifying this and if so I highly recommend the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution # FA92-00-0450.
I really like this system because it represents a fantastic value for a weight distribution hitch. It provides excellent sway control and leveling, has brackets and trunnion bars which make it easier to set up than other systems, but is at a much better price point than alternatives. It comes with everything you need except for the hitch ball, the 2" Hitch Ball # 40038.
I have added a link to a video review for you as well of the Fastway e2 Weight Distribution # FA92-00-0450.
