How to Remove Flush Mount Taillights and Grommets in a Square Tube Snowmobile Trailer Frame
Question:
I have a snowmobile trailer that has a few of the lights not working. The lights in question are the brake/blinkers on both sides, and a few marker/running lights. I would like to replace these with your led lights that go into the grommet, but I have no idea how to remove the old lights. Upon removing the floor of the trailer, I see that the wiring is housed inside the square aluminum tubing. There is no rear access to the lights on the trailer. The trailer is a regular, no top, flat snowmobile trailer that hauls two sleds. I really need your help. Id like to get the lights, grommets, etc... and get using this as the ice is starting to finally form and the ice fishing season is about to start for us Michiganders. Ive watched numerous videos, but havent found one of yours that shows how to get those grommet lights out to replace them.

It sounds like your trailer has the 6-1/2 inch Oval stop turn and tail lamps and some side marker lamps that use a rubber grommet like the 6-1/2 inch oval tail lights grommet, # A70GB.
Since the area where your lights are mounted is not accessible from the back side, you will need to pry the light out of the front of the grommet with a small screwdriver or other similar tool. If you could find a plastic pry tool that might work better and keep you from damaging the rubber grommet. Another trick I have used before is to work a small amount of vegetable oil in around the light and grommet to ease removal.
I produced a short video showing how to remove a taillight from the front of a mounting bracket when access is not available from the back, and how to reinstall the repaired or new lights, see link.
I also listed all of the parts seen in the video for you just in case you need a new grommet or lights. The light mentioned also requires a 3 wire pigtail to complete the installation, see links.
