Question:
What size wire do I need to use to rewire a 16 foot gooseneck horse trailer? This trailer also has electric brakes. I am going to purchase the 8foot 6 way molded trailer connector and the junction box. I just want to use the right size wire for the tail lights, running lights, interior lights and the brakes.

Expert Reply:
Using the 6-Way Molded Connector w/ Cable - Trailer End # 50-61-104 and a junction box like # 38656 is a wise start. I recommend using the Ring Terminal - 12-10 Gauge Wire - 3/16" Ring ID # 44-5310A for this fit. For your brake wiring, I recommend using 10 gauge wire # 10-2-1. For your tail lights, running lights and interior lights you can use 16 gauge wire like the Bonded 4 Wire - per foot # 16-4B-1 or single wire # DW02359-1.
