Alternative Entry Steps for 2017 R-Pod 179
Question:
can I use a bigger step?

Expert Reply:
The R-Pod 179 usually comes with a single-step pull-out stair unit like either 24-inch-wide Flexco # SMFP-1200 or the 20-inch # SMFP-1120. Both are single step assemblies but they differ in the amount of drop/rise.
You may have enough ground clearance to install a different step, one that either has 2-steps to reduce the height of each step up, or one that has a better step height. You just want to ensure you do not reduce the trailer's ground clearance by installing a step assembly that extends too far down.
An alternative to replacing the step assembly is simply adding an accessory step to your list of camping items to ease entry into the trailer. We offer the Safety Step # SASXLA-09C-G that offers adjustable height and a nice big 24 x 16-inch size. Along with this you might consider adding a handrail like the Lend-a-Hand Folding Grab Handle # AM-300.

I have an R Pod 179 no matter which step we try the top step is still too far from the floor. If you're handicapped it's a big deal. Can I get a low rise with three steps to fit?
