Yakima RailGrab Roof Rack Installation - 2011 Ford Explorer
Today on our 2011 Ford Explorer well be test fitting the Yakima Railgrab roof rack system using part numbers Y00409 and Y00138. With our vehicle equipped with the factory side rails and our roof rack system preassembled according to the fit kit instructions, well go ahead and fit them to the vehicle. Well begin by setting the front crossbar on top of the side rails. Well find a fixed location on both side rails and measure from that location back on the side rail. Well need to keep these identical as it will help the front crossbar to stay perpendicular with the side rails for ease of loading our accessories. With our front crossbar located in the same place on both side rails well simply tighten down the black Allen head bolt using the included Allen wrench with your roof rack system.
Thule Crossroad Roof Rack Installation - 2011 Ford Explorer
Today were looking at a 2011 Ford Explorer. Were going to test fit the Thule Square Load Bar System. Weve already got our load bar set up so lets go ahead and do a test fit on the vehicle. Each clip pack has an arrow in the center of the foot pack so that you can line it up with the center of your cross rails. Now we need to make sure our foot packs are even side to side and running perpendicular to the cross rails. Once we settle the load bar, we can go ahead and take the in-cap with the built in tying tool and tie our foot packs down.
Thule AeroBlade Crossroad Roof Rack Installation - 2011 Ford Explorer
Today we're looking at a 2011 Ford Explorer. We're going to do a test fit of the Thule AeroBlade Roof Rack System. We used the 60" load bars with the rapid load foot packs. With our load bar is set up, let's go ahead and install it on the vehicle. Each foot pack has an aero indicator, so that you can center it on the raised-side rails. Now, the load bar installed, let's go ahead and adjust it from side-to-side to make sure it's even and running perpendicular with the side rails.
Yakima RailGrab Roof Rack Installation - 2004 Ford Explorer
Today on this 2004 Ford Explorer with factory raised side rails we are going to be installing a Yakima Railgrab roof rack system. Once you have your crossbar assemblies all put together you are ready to install them up on your roof. Before we start tightening down our front crossbar assembly we need to make sure that the crossbar is running perpendicular to our factory side rails. We are going to measure from a fixed point at the front of our side rail to the edge of the railgrab tower to ensure that the crossbar is perpendicular. We also need to make sure that the crossbar is overhanging evenly from both the left side to the right side. We will visually check the crossbar from the front of the vehicle to check our overhang. Once we have our positioning set we will take the included allen wrench and start to tighten the system down. The black bolt will tighten up our Railgrab tower to our side rail. The silver allen head bolt towards the top of our Railgrab tower will clamp the tower onto the crossbar and secure the crossbar. Once we have the front crossbar assembly tightened down we can go ahead and place the rear and get it posititoned correctly. 1:00
Thule Crossroad Roof Rack Installation - 2004 Ford Explorer
Today on this 2004 Ford Explorer we are going to install a Thule Crossroad roof rack. We already have our crossbar assemblies put together so we are ready to lay them in place on top of our side rails. To properly position the roof rack we need to make sure that the overhang is even from the driver side to the passenger side. We also need to make sure that our crossbar is running perpendicular to our factory raised side rails. So what we will do is measure from a fixed point at the front of the side rail to the edge of our Crossroad feet and make sure this measurement is even on both sides. Once we have the roof rack in position we will pull the strap all the way through set it into the feet and begin tightening the rack down. We will move back and forth from the driver side to the passenger side to tighten down the roof rack system evenly. Once we have the front bar assembly tightened down we are ready to mount the rear. :48
Rhino Rack Roof Rack Installation - 2004 Ford Explorer
Today on this 2004 Ford Explorer with factory raised side rails we are going to be installing a Rhino Rack roof rack part number SXBS4. We already have our crossbar assemblies put together so next we are going to take our assembly and lay it across our side rails. Next we are going to check our crossbar overhang from driver side to passenger side and make sure it is even. Now we need to ensure that our Rhino Rack crossbar is perpendicular to our factory raised side rails. To do that we are going to measure from a fixed point on the side rail back to the clamps on our Rhino Rack crossbar. We will make sure this measurement is even on both sides. Once we have the front crossbar positioned where we need it we can go ahead and begin tightening it down. We will take the included wrench and use it to tighten the allen head bolt that is tucked inside the crossbar above the clamp. As we tighten this bolt the clamp is going to grab onto our side rail and it is also going to secure the crossbar to the clamp. Once we have the front crossbar assembly tightened down we are ready to start with the rear.
Swagman Fork Down Roof Bike Rack Review - 2013 Ford Explorer
Today we have a 2013 Ford Explorer and we're going to be test fitting the Swagman Fork Style Roof Mounted Bike Carrier, part number s64710. To install the bike rack to the carrier place the bike rack up on top of our load bars. At the front we'll fit the two U-bolts around our load bars and use the wing nuts to secure the front of the bike rack.Next we'll move to the back of the bike carrier fitting the U-bolt through the carrier from the top. We'll take the clamp and two wing nuts to clamp around the bar from the bottom. With that done our bike rack is secure and we're ready to load up our bike. We'll make sure that the wheel strap at the rear of the bike carrier is undone and also make sure that the skewer at the front of the bike is open.We'll pick up our bike, place the wheel into the wheel tray and fit the front fork down into our skewer.
RockyMounts PitchFork Roof Bike Rack Review - 2013 Ford Explorer
Today on our 2013 Ford Explorer we'll be test fitting the RockyMounts PitchFork Roof Mounted Bike Carrier, part number rky0438. To fit our carrier to the vehicle we'll set it up on top of our load bars. We'll put the front clamp around the front load bar and use the Allen key to tighten it down. Then at the rear we'll fit the clamp around the load bar using the wing nut to tighten it down. Now it's time to reinstall our skewer cover. At this time we can go ahead and prepare to load up our bike.
Thule Domestique Roof Bike Rack Review - 2011 Ford Explorer
Today on our 2011 Ford Explorer we'll be test fitting the Thule Domestique Roof Top Bike Carrier, part number TH513. With our vehicle equipped with the Thule AeroBlade crossbars and our Domestique preassembled, we're ready to fit it to the vehicle. We'll simply set the Domestique on top of the crossbars. We'll line up the head of the bike carrier with the front crossbar and adjust the rear mounting point to the rear crossbar of our vehicle. We can then take the front head cover, bring it underneath the front crossbar and tighten it down using the Allen wrench included with the bike rack. After the front head is tight, we can move to the rear attachment point and bring the clamp underneath the rear load bar and tighten it down using the included hardware.
RockyMounts Euro PitchFork Roof Bike Rack Review - 2011 Ford Explorer
Today on our 2011 Ford Explorer, well be test fitting the RockyMounts Euro PitchFork Bike Rack, part number RKY1103. The Euro PitchFork is designed to be mounted in the channels of your roof racks and our bike rack is pre-assembled, and we have the Thule AeroBlade Roof Rack System on our Explorer so we're ready to go ahead and fit it to the vehicle. On our front crossbar, we will need to remove the rubber channel cover and with our cover removed, well simply line up the square nut on the head of the bike rack and slide it into the channel of our front load bar. We'll then line up the rear mounting point and bring the clamp around underneath the crossbar and secure it using the hardware provided with the bike rack. Well then remove the front head cover and tighten down the two Allen bolts which will secure the square nut to the channel of our front crossbar. That will secure our bike rack to the roof rack and we can now re-install the rubber channel cover to reduce wind noise.
RockyMounts TieRod Roof Bike Rack Review - 2011 Ford Explorer
Today on our 2011 Ford Explorer well be test fitting the RockyMounts TieRod Roof Mounted Bike Rack, part number RKY1014. Now our vehicle is equipped with the Thule AeroBlade roof rack system and our roof rack is preassembled so we are ready to go ahead and fit it to the vehicle. Well take the head of the bike rack and put it directly over the top of the front cross bar, we can then bring the rubber coated steel straps around and secure them back to the head of the bike rack. Well then come to the rear mounting point and line it directly over the top of the rear crossbar where we can secure it using the included wing nuts provided with the bike rack. With our rear mount secured we can move on to the head, tightening down the Allen bolt, which will secure it to the front cross bar. And with the head of the bike rack secured well install the head cover, which will complete the bike rack and make it ready to load a bike.
Thule Pulse Alpine Rooftop Cargo Box Review - 2013 Ford Explorer
Today well be doing a test fit of the Thule Pulse Alpine rooftop cargo box measuring 11 cubic feet on our 2013 Ford Explorer. Our Explorer comes with the factory mounted rails and we have installed the Thule Aeroblade load bars on top of those factory rails. To install the cargo box begin by placing the cargo box on top of your load bars. When doing so make sure that the feet of the clamps hanging out of the bottom of the cargo box simply go around the load bars. Then, go ahead and open up the cargo box and tighten each clamp by using the easy grip mounting hardware located inside. When you have each clamp tightened and secured you are ready to close your cargo box.
Thule Pulse Large Rooftop Cargo Box Review - 2013 Ford Explorer
Today on our 2013 Ford Explorer, well be test fitting the Thule Pulse Large Rooftop Cargo Box 14 Cubic feet, part number TH614. Our Explorer already has the factory rails installed and it also has a set of our Aero Blade Roof Racks. To install this carrier you want to go ahead and place it onto of your load bars. Make sure that when placing it on top of your load bars that the clamps are secured around each bar. Once you have it centered in line with your vehicle, go ahead and open up your cargo box, go ahead and tighten each clamp by twisting the knobs inside. Once you have each clamp secure and tightened, go ahead and close the cargo box and turn the key in the lock position.
Thule MOAB Roof Top Cargo Basket Review - 2011 Ford Explorer
Today we're going to test 2011 Ford Explorer. We'll test fit the Thule M.O.A.B. Roof Basket. You'll see on top of our Thule AeroBlade roof rack system. The cargo basket comes with a spread on the load bars of 16" to 28". With our load bars already set up, let's go and install the cargo basket.
Thule Flat Top Ski and Snowboard Carrier Review - 2013 Ford Explorer
Today on our 2013 Ford Explorer well be test fitting the Thule flat top ski and snowboard carrier part #: TH92725. Our vehicles already equipped with the Thule Aeroblade system and our ski carrier is already preassembled, so were ready to go ahead and fit it to the vehicle. Well simply place it on the top of the front load bar and using the rubber coated seal straps well bring them around and attach them to the other side of the clamping device. Go ahead and tighten down your front carrier straps by using the gray knob. With our front carrier installed well now move to the rear, again, repeating the same process as we did with the front, securing it to the rear load bar. With our rear carrier secured were now ready to go ahead and load our skis and snowboard.
RockyMounts LiftOp 6 Ski and Snowboard Carrier Review - 2011 Ford Explorer
Today on our 2011 Ford Explorer, well be test fitting the RockyMounts LiftOp 6 Ski and Snowboard Carrier, part number RKY1461. Now with our vehicle equipped with the Thule AeroBlade we do have the ability to use the channel within the load bar. However, the LiftOp 6 also comes with the ability to be used with the square bars or round bars whichever you prefer. Well begin with the front carrier. Well simply open the side channel and remove the rubber channel cover. With our channel cover out of the way we can line up the square nuts with the channel and slide it into the load bar.

We'll simply place it on top of the front load bar and using the rubber coated steel straps, we'll bring them around and attach them to the other side of the clamping device. We can then simply tighten them down. And with our front carrier installed, we'll now move on to the rear, again, repeating the same process as we did with the front, securing it to the rear load bar.
Thule SUP Taxi Stand-Up Paddleboard Carrier Review - 2013 Ford Explorer
Today we have a 2013 Ford Explorer and were going to be test fitting the Thule SUP Taxi Stand Up Paddle Board Carrier part number TH810. Our Explorer is equipped with factory rails and our Thule AeroBlade Roof Rack. To install the Thule SUP Taxi, well take one part of the carrier and set it up on the front load bar. Well feed the speed-link strap around the front load bar and back into the heads. Well use the gray knobs to hand tighten down the straps.
