Installation

T-One Connection Location Points

This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side interior trim panel in your rear cargo area.

Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed in an out-of-the-way location within your cargo area.

It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plug on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.

Circuit-Protected Tail Light Converter

A tail light converter is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. The tail light converter combines the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.

This converter safeguards itself and your vehicle against possible electrical shorts and overloads with integrated short circuit protection. Just install the connector as indicated and rest assured that the wiring system of your vehicle will remain feedback-free.

I bought and installed this when I installed my hitch. In my CR-V, the wiring was present in the cargo area, behind the left side panel, so all I had to do was plug it in. HOwever, since I use my hitch only for a bike rack, and I don't have a trailer, I've never actually tested this wiring harness.

Great product and fast shipping. No damage to the box and very easy instructions. I even watched the videos a few times. I had no issues except the box did not contain the hex nuts needed for the U bolt. Called customer service and it was taken care of right away. I was so excited to install, I went to local auto shop and purshcaed the correct nuts. I do wish it came with a wire brush to clean the holes the bolts went in but picked up a set. Works great and looks great on my CR-V. I would recommend and buy from again. Great job etrailer. Great product and great prices. I never have to borrow A truck again to haul.

I love my products. They still work great and look great! I use it at least 3 times a week. Holding up strong.

The most difficult part of installing this product was cleaning the threads to run the screws in. Once that was done the hitch was only minutes till it was installed. Great product!!!!

2011 Honda CR-V

I just installed the hitch and wiring harness this morning. It went in
without too much difficulty. The only change I would make to the installation instructions would be to improve removing and reinstalling the muffler rubber isolator hangers. The outside isolator is straight forward just remove isolator from muffler pin let isolator connected to the frame pin. The inside isolator pin I had to remove from the frame
pin first. I could not get it off the muffler pin until the muffler was dropped down then I could remove the isolator hanger from the muffler pin. Note, install the inside muffler isolator hanger back onto the frame pin before bolting the hitch in place. Just not enough room to get the inside isolator back on the frame pin after the hitch is installed. The spacing between the hitch cutout and the frame pin is too close to get the isolator back on the frame pin. See the two photos I have attached below.

Just what I needed.

Had to chase
the treads with a tap. Wire brushing just wasn't adequate. Great job on your website and the videos on the electrical hookup hardware was very helpful. I actually purchased a different one than i had in the shopping cart after watching the video.

Thanks

My Honda CR-V was wired for this kit to be added, and it went in perfectly. So nice to be able to add a trailer (or rent a unit) with the connection being so compatible with the factory pigtail connector.

This high quality wiring kit is working perfectly.

Kind of a hassle to install since you have to run a wire from the rear to the front of the vehicle, but it wasn't difficult at all. Just follow the instructions/video and you'll have no issues. I used more zip ties than provided, as I don't like to have loose wires under the car.

After purchasing this hitch and wiring kit for a 2010 Honda CRV I was pleased to receive the follow-up, informing me that the order had been processed and shipped.
This vendor's customer service is the best I've had the pleasure to experience for any online purchase ....bar-none!
Shipping was followed up and very informative also. It arrived on time and intact via UPS!
The online install information and video was right on the money. This had to be the easiest of any hitch and wire kit I have ever installed, and I have probably designed, built, or modified 20-30 hitches in my many years of custom car and motorcycle building, racing, R/V-ing, towing and farming!
I look forward to doing business again soon .
Thanks!! ......Frank Lyons

2010 Honda CR-V

I bought this for a 2010 Honda CR-V. Installation was straightforward - pop a few trim clips, unscrew a few screws and plug into the connector, which was right where they said it should be. All functions worked properly with a voltmeter test. The wire to the connector is just barely long enough to reach the end of the hitch receiver. Six more inches would go a long way to making this ideal.

Its been a year its still working great no problems

by:

The wiring harness arrived in a timely manner, fit perfectly and was easy to install due to excellent instructions and the video I watched before I even ordered it. Some folks think it's silly that the wiring runs out the CR-V rear door opening during use, but I use a trailer so infrequently (a few times a year) that it is more important to me that the wiring is out of the elements when not in use. I prefer this type of hookup because I've seen what salty winter roads do to external trailer wiring. This setup will be better for my use.

David

The wiring harness has fully met my expectations after a year of use. Ive only used it a few times and it has worked well each time. I still like that the wiring stays inside the vehicle when Im not pulling a trailer. The 4-pin connector still looks like new because its protected inside the vehicle.

by:

My CRV wiring harness arrived on time to the promise date and performed as specified. The online video was helpful and gave me confidence that I would be able to install it myself before purchasing it. It installed pretty easily but some patience was needed for pulling open the plastic panels in the car. I like having the connector stored in the spare tire well.

Well I pulled the largest u haul trailer from MI to FL and even over the mountains of TN no issue at all. Had 2 Yamaha scooters in the cargo. Did all that with a 2008 Honda CRV and the trailer hitch.

I had a garage install it for me. Anyway very happy with versatility I now have.

The product was exactly what was described. I installed it on my 2011 Honda CR-V in less than 1 hr. No issues and no problems. I used it the next day to trailer home a log splitter I rented from Home Depot. Considering what "Professional" installation would have cost me this was a great deal. The installation video was a great help.

Timely delivery (as usual from etrailer) and simple successful installation.

My 2011 Honda CR-V didn't exactly match the video provided, but it was thorough enough that I could extrapolate ... total time *maybe* an hour -- I'm no mechanic, just reasonably handy.

Can wholeheartedly recommend etrailer and am quite happy with the wiring harness adapter for safely towing my utility trailer.

The excellent rating I did for the Curt hitch also applies to the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector. I watched the video and read the instructions pdf, and it was absolutely a piece of cake to install. I chose to do the ground connection in a different way than the the video instructions suggest, adding a separate grounding blot for the harness. But otherwize the whole process was exactly as the instructions said. When I went to order the trailer, I had them test it and it worked perfectly. Thank you etrailer.com and T-One for a great product at a good price.

  • Troubleshooting Trailer Light Malfunctions on a 2009 Honda CR-V
From what I understand, at first, none of the lights worked. Now, with a trailer connected and the running lights on, you get a hot signal with every connection. First, you will have to disconnect the trailer to do some testing. Start by using a circuit tester to test the wires going in to the converter. Test each function separately. Turn signals, tail lights and stop lights. If these are all correct, move on to the wires coming out of the converter. Test each function again for these...
