    • Self tapping screws attach the bracket directly to the bottom of your plastic bumper
    • Nuts and bolts attach the bracket directly to the frame of your vehicle or to a metal bumper

Adding a trailer hitch and wiring to 2015 Lexus. etrailer had everything I needed to get this done. I put on the hitch and the bracket for the four pole connector to the trailer. After looking at the the wiring instructions for the Lexus, I decided to hire that out. Prices were really good and the quality is rock solid.

Exactly what i needed. Everything fit correctly. But mounting screws were a little wimpy stripped one out had to go to hardware store and get more.

Still working good. No problems.

Easy install, mounted to an extension bracket to try to clear the trim on my 2017 Honda Pilot. Holds the wire harness up behind the trim out of sight. May be difficult to use, but we'll see.

2010 Hyundai Santa Fe. I mounted this to the driver's side of the hitch receiver. I drilled the mounting holes in the bottom of the bumper and used the self tapping screws. The plug pushes in from the back. Be sure to put the cover strap onto the plug before pushing the plug into the mount.

This was the 3rd trailer that I have ordered from etrailer and each time service has been excellent. Easy installation and rugged durability.

Easy to install. Great product. Ordered with the trailer wiring harness to complete my DIY install. Thank you.

Replaced the kinda junky Chinese fasteners with more robust ones of my own, and it worked great! Had to slightly drill out the mounting holes on the bracket, but not a big deal.

Comments
A year later and its still working great! I dont know what another reviewer was talking about re: the flat connector not being secure in the opening, but mine is very solid and stays put when plugging in the connector from the trailer wiring maybe they didnt push theirs all the way into the opening until the plug snapped into place? Excellent product, just cheap fasteners. Would def buy again or recommend.

I bought the Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver for my Jeep. It has a small tab welded on it for this bracket. It lined up perfectly and was very easy to install. It gives the hitch a factory installed look.

by:

Product was an exact fit for my 2000 Toyota Tacoma. Super easy install. I saved the black plastic flexible wire tubing from my old wiring harness which I think adds a lot of protection. I would recommend buying this type of tubing to use. Also purchased the 4 pole flat bracket to fit the connector which makes for a nice professional finish. It easily screwed into the bottom of the bumper-----just had to drill two 3/32 inch holes. See picture Overall very satisfied.

- 18144
by:

I combined this bracket with the extension bracket with clamp so I would not have to put holes in my hitch. The 4 prong plug fits tightly and stays in place when plugging and unplugging the trailer connector. Also worth it to get the rubber connector cap to prevent corrosion and road grim from getting in the prongs.very thick solid well made bracket.

I ordered a class 3 hitch and 4 pin flat wiring harness for my 2011 Subaru Outback. Both items arrived in a fair amount of time. Then I find out I need a bracket to mount the plug end of the harness onto my hitch. Otherwise you need to empty the back of your car and lift the spare tire cover and hang the plug out of the back of your car's hatch. (Does anyone actually do that?) So I pay the $[XX] and $[XX] shipping and order the bracket...or should I say half of the bracket. I spent $[XX] for part# 118144, which is a 10 cent piece of metal bent on an angle and a couple of screws. The best part is you need part# 118140 to mount the $[XX] piece of metal known as part# 118144 to your hitch. (Would have been nice to have that made clear on the website.) Apparently part# 118140 mounts to your hitch with a hose clamp and then part# 118144 screws onto it. A hose clamp? Really??? Why not have a pre-drilled flat piece of steel welded to the hitch that whatever bracket you need would mount to? That's how real hitches are made. I refuse to order part# 118140. I'll fabricate something and mount it to the hitch myself and it won't be with a hose clamp. I don't want to have a hitch on my car that looks like I pieced it together from a yard sale. Not impressed at all.

by:

item was exactly as described. Will allow me to properly mount and protect my trailer light connection. Came with everything needed to mount to tow bar (many brackets do not, be careful ordering elsewhere)

- 18144
by:

I also bought this mounting bracket to in stall my hook up for my trailer. I always see wires hanging from under cars for there hook ups and looks like it can get hung up on something. So I went to E-Trailer and bought this mounting bracket and it did the trick, no more hanging wires and it was worth the money and easy to in stall. Vince

- 18144
by:

This bracket's slot is meant to hold the 4-pin flat plug wiring connector from the car's wiring harness, but it does not appear to "lock" the connector in place, so only 3 stars. In other words, when the trailer's connector is joined to the wiring connector, both connectors have to be held at the same time (not a huge problem), but more concerning it appears the connectors could move around and slid within this bracket's slot (may have to tape them in place).

- 18144
by:

Purchased with a Draw-Tite hitch that has the bracket welded to the cross member. No sweat to install onto hitch. Remember to mount the bracket to the hitch before installing hitch. Also, the vertical tab with the slot must face the rear of the truck to accept the plug from the wiring harness.

Product has worked fine this this past year.

Works great in conjunction with the short mount bracket to hold the four pin wiring harness. Just make sure you push the harness all the way in until it seats itself properly and it won’t move or wiggle in the bracket.

Simple product that provides a clean looking professional install. It attached directly to the no-drill mounting bracket on the Draw-Tite 75908 hitch receiver on a 2019 Kia Sorento using the provided bolts and nuts. The CURT 4 Pole Flat connector fits perfectly into the bracket (C56332).

- 18144
by:

I attached the mounting bracket to the trailer hitch square tubing with double face tape then with a clamp. Centered, solid, safe, and convenient.

- 18144
by:

Ordered this to make the installation of factory wiring harness look better. I'm glad I did. It fit the mounting tab on the hitch perfectly. No drilling required. Just 2 bolts and it was installed. Makes the entire installation look professional.

- 18144
by:

The bracket works great and holds the trailer wiring connector very securely. I attached mine to to the hitch cross bar with a heavy gage sheet metal strap. That way the bracket is easy to access but is still independent from the nearby plastic bumper cover and the aluminum heat shield.

The video's are the best. Got my order on Friday and just finished installing the trailer hitch and wiring harness. My wife said, I didn't know you could do that. My reply was, neither did I, but I did stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night.

Mounted this just to the right of my hitch and it makes connections alot faster.

Fairly easy install by an amateur. Make sure you have right sets of ratchet extensions and ability to loosen original bolts. With hitch and electrical took a little under 2 hours.

I would definitely recommend Etrailer my curt hitch wiring kit iand bracket all fit perfectly on my telluride my order arrived shortly after I placed it thank you eat trailer

by:

All three products arrived without damage or missing parts. However the packaging is not robust enough for the heavy hitch. I'm glad you taped all the included items to the hitch or they may have been lost. The hitch arrived on the UPS truck with a large hole in the box. Any loose components would have fallen out.

  • Parts Needed to Mount 4-Pole Flat Trailer Wiring Harness to Trailer Hitch Receiver
We have some solutions for you, but the first step you will want to take is to look for a grommet or existing hole in the floor pan to see if you can route the harness out to the underside of the vehicle. If you can find a suitable hole for that, then I recommend using the following parts to create a mounting bracket that attaches to your trailer hitch receiver. 4-Pole Flat Mounting Bracket # 18144 Long No-Drill Mounting Bracket # 18140

To install the 4-way bracket part # 18144 that you referenced you'd need to use the included hardware to attach it to the bottom of the rear bumper. We don't have any pictures though that show it installed on a Commander like yours though. I did attach an install video that uses this bracket as well as an install picture too.

The 4-Pole Mounting Bracket part # 18144 should allow you to secure the trailer connector on your Quadratec Plug-n-Play Tow Hitch Wiring Harness 92015 8001. However, we don't carry Quadratec wiring harnesses so I can't say we have tested them together. It looks like you might have to put a bit more pressure on the plug to insert it into the mounting bracket or trim some of the rubber but you should be able to make it work. Mounting bracket # 18144 will work with trailer wiring harness # 118746 for your 2017 Mazda CX-5. But it is not needed unless you were to route the 4-Way end of the harness down through the rear cargo area floor to the outside of the vehicle and over to the hitch. This is because the wiring harnesses for this vehicle are designed to have the 4-Way run out through the rear hatch with the hatch closed on it (the weather stripping will protect the wiring).
