Question:
Can dual switch be installed on Suburban water heater?

Helpful Expert Reply:
You can absolutely install a double switch like the Replacement Double-Panel On/Off Switch for Atwood Gas and Electric Combination Water Heaters - White # AT91230 on your Suburban Water Heater. This switch when wired correctly will allow you to power the gas burner and electric components independently. I've attached a wiring diagram to assist. You may want to use the Female Spade Terminal Quick-Disconnect # DW01899-1, butt connectors # DW05743-5, and Deka Ring Terminals # DW05737-1.

Your wiring diagram and use of the Dual switch on Suburban is WRONG Suburban uses 120VAC directly for element and 12VDC for gas Dual switch uses common 12VDC for both switches Only Suburban 'DEL' model uses DC for control of electric/gas (similar to Atwood 10E & 4E Models since 2004) All other Suburban combo units have SEPARATE power/controls. ANY switch added INSIDE the RV must be 120VAC and wired in SERIESS with the OEM Switch outside. Very Misleading info posted in your reply.......
