Hello, I am looking for a replacement for the RV water tank and heater. The model is G6A-8E serial # 96220 334201. What we can use or do you have that one in stock? Thank you

We do carry the Dometic RV Water Heater # DMC74FR which you could use to replace your Atwood G6A-8E 6 gal RV Water Heater, but I highly recommend switching over to a tankless system like the Furrion RV Tankless Water Heater 60,000 BTU # FR98SR. This unit features a heating capacity of 13,000 - 60,000 Btu, well above that of your Atwood.

It has similar dimensions at 12-5/8" L x 12-13/16" W x 19-3/16" D so you'll need to make slight alterations to your cutout hole to fill in the gap but the performance output of this unit will be worth the work.

The on-demand hot water and ability to set the temperature to a specific degree instead of the old fashioned arrow knob will make camping much more enjoyable.

The # FR98SR has the following requirements to properly operate:

12VDC Power Input.

7.2-65PSI water Pressure (40-50PSI recommended). I recommend using a water pressure regulator like # CAM40064 to ensure proper water pressure.

11" WC - 14" WC (13" WC recommended). I recommend having a licensed technician check your pressure and adjust your regulator accordingly to ensure proper gas pressure.

Kevin is the p/n an FR98SR or FR68SR? I am getting some conflicting opinions. Not at my trailer at the moment but I think the door for the G6A-8E has a 16 1/8 x 18 1/8. Much obliged!

@JimmieH The Furrion RV Tankless Water Heater # FR98SR is going to come with a 16-1/8" x 16-1/8" access door so it's going to be a bit too small to replace your 16-1/8" x 18-1/8" door. The # FR68SR comes with an 18-1/8" x 18-1/8" access door so it would be a little be larger than you need. The # FR48SR comes with a 16-1/8" tall x 18-1/8" wide access door so it'd be the best option to replace your Atwood G6A-8E water heater.

We also have the same water heater in our camper and are needing to replace it. As far as I know, the G6A-8E water heater is PROPANE ONLY, so how can the tankless water heater be a viable replacement? There is no power to hook it up to. What am I missing?

2 inches isn’t a little bit that’s 10% of the hole. Where is the required amps? Will it require its own electrical power 120v ac or 12v dc will be enough? What am I missing?
