Question:
I think I need a weight distribution hitch. All of the pictures show a trailer with a v shaped toung. I am pulling a boat. Do they work with them if the have the single tounge that goes back to a V?

To use weight distribution with a pole tongue on a boat trailer you will need to use a pole tongue adapter. We have a couple of options. If you do not want to use sway control with the weight distribution you would use adapter # RP3280 rated for 7,500 pounds gross trailer weight and 750 pounds tongue weight.
If you do want to use sway control or your trailer is too heavy for the other adapter you would need # RP58393. The adapters simulate a 50 degree A-frame and will allow you to mount the weight distribution brackets at the proper spacing.
We also carry the Blue Ox 2-Point Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control - 6-Hole Shank - 10K GTW, 600 TW # BLU45FR which will offer sway control and come with a 2" hitch ball mount included.
To choose the right capacity weight distribution system you will need to go by the total tongue weight of the set up. This is calculated by taking the tongue weight of the trailer, when loaded and ready to tow, and adding to that the weight of anything loaded behind the rear axle of the tow vehicle. Also, if the trailer frame is aluminum you will need to ask the trailer manufacturer if it can be used with weight distribution.
I have included some links to the right on weight distribution and determining tongue weight for you.
