Troubleshooting a Factory Brake Controller in a 2007 Ford F250 that Shows No Trailer Connection

Question:
I have a 2007 ford f-250,the TBC fault shows on the dash.The have been working fine with the TBC fault on until lately when the trailer disconect came onand i had on trailer brakes but the 7-way plug was stilled pluged in.How do i check the controllerand can i change to a after market.

Most likely your problem is corrosion on the brake output circuit of the 7-way. I would inspect the 7-way on both your trailer and 2007 Ford F250 and clean the pins as necessary. I also attached an FAQ article on troubleshooting brake controller installs for you to check out as well.
You also can replace your factory brake controller if you like also. For more info on that check out the FAQ article I attached to the right.
