Many states have different rules and regulations regarding towing and use of cargo carriers. We recommend checking with your local DMV to see what your state policies are. Most cargo carriers have light kits available to help drivers behind you better judge the distance. If your carrier and cargo obscures your taillights the cargo carrier lights are highly recommended.
