If your 2006 Chevy Trailblazer has a factory installed 7-Way trailer connector then you would not use a brake controller wiring harness. Instead, the tow package wiring to install a brake controller is located under the dash. You will need to splice the wires from the controller to this wire bundle. The wire bundle is located under the dash, to the left of the steering wheel. It should be held together with a white tag. The tag should list the functions of the wires.
On the brake controller, white is ground, black is 12 volt power in, blue is output to trailer brakes, and red is input from stop light switch.
For a controller I recommend the P2, # 90885. It is our most popular controller because it is easy to set up and use and it is reliable.
