Roadmaster Anti-Sway Bar Installed

Benefits of an Anti-Sway System

The Roadmaster anti-sway bar does for side-to-side movement what a good pair of shocks does for up-and-down motion. You will notice a marked improvement in your vehicle's stability as the bar works to balance weight transfer and reduce body roll. The anti-sway bar acts as a link between your vehicle's frame and its front axle, using the axle as a brace to more effectively balance the shifting weight of your vehicle as you maneuver it. Lubricated bushings allow just enough pivot and rotation to compensate for the pressure placed on one side of your vehicle when it goes into sudden maneuvers, hits crosswinds or encounters shifting weights.

Roadmaster Anti-Sway Polyurethane Bushings

Superior Construction

The Roadmaster anti-sway bar is made of 4140 chromoly, a chromium and molybdenum steel alloy. This type of steel is considerably harder and stronger than the standard 1020 steel that is typically used in anti-sway applications. In addition, the larger diameter of the bar increases its torsional roll stiffness. The result is a bar that is not only stronger than the competition, but also nearly 30 percent better at resisting sway. The polyurethane bushings and grommets used at the attachment points are durable yet flexible, ensuring that the system is neither so rigid nor so malleable that it becomes ineffective.

Easy installation with exact fit on a 2020 Sunseeker 2440DS with a Ford 2019 E450 chassis. I’m sure it will improve the ride for it’s twice as thick as the factory sway bar.
Your directions need updating for the 2019 E450 takes a 19 mm for the front bushing clamp not a 14mm. The rear is a 16 mm not a 10mm and the end link nut is a 19 mm.

I reached out to Roadmaster who advised that this kit uses the factory installed bolts and the manual is referring to the thread size of the bolt versus the size of the wrench that fits the bolts.

by:

Bottom line - Yes its worth it.
Installed
on 2018 THOR/Axis 25.5

Night and Day driving.
Local shop in Maryland installed for me.
(I had already packed my tools/jacks for moving south).
Their mechanic was impressed with the size over the OEM.

On a related note, got the rear set up as well.
Sumo Springs intalled as well.

Still great and ditto from my front revew - this should be a required OEM item. Now to update the shocks.

by:

I bought this sway bar for my 2015 Itasca Cambria 30J to replace the small factory F450 sway bar. It helped tremendously with my Class C stability and sway. I also upgraded the rear bar. These are more expensive then other brands but I like Roadmaster products and etrailer will price match.
Very happy with purchases from etrailer.

Best upgrade for a Class C motorhome.

by:

Really helps with the swaying. Excellent product. I recommend to anybody!

by:

Significant difference when making turns and going around curves. These twin I beam suspension have a tendency to follow uneven road surfaces, this pretty much eliminated a lot of that. Installed it myself with the Roadmaster end links and the only complaint I have is I had to enlarge bolt hole for the end link bolt, other than that, well satisfied. I also installed the rear sway bar at same time, highly recommend replacing the front and rear sway bars together.

Completely satisfied, made a lot of difference in handling.

by:

Overall very happy with purchase of front Anti-Sway bar. Installation required the use of torched heat and a 6 point socket to remove the two front bolts on the original Anti-Sway bar on my 2016 Ford E-450 (Thor Outlaw Class C). After using heat on the frame around the bolts for about 30 seconds, the bolts were easily removed. The new Anti-Sway bar was quite a bit larger than the original and fairly easy to install following supplied instructions. This completes the installation of the front and back Anti-Sway bars and the Loadmaster Reflex Steering Stabilizer. Final test drive tomorrow.

After a year I did add Sumo Springs and Koni shocks to the front. This completed my front suspension. I will eventually add the Sumo Springs to the rear. Overall very happy with the products I added to my suspension, starting with the Front and rear Anti-Sway bar.

by:

Got the shocks waiting to get them installed.
Rhiannon was great to talk to. Give her a raise!

by:

Easy install we going on the road in a couple of weeks thank you etrailer

by:

Made a huge diffence on a 10k+ trip to Alaska. Installed both front and rear sway bars. Night and day difference. Lot safer and more comfortable driving experience!

by:

Easy install. I recommend doing this at the same time as installing the steering stabilizer. Both were big improvements in how my class C drove

by:

It definitely helped.

by:

Your staff is always so helpful if I have questions and most times you have several videos for installations of your products. This sway bar was priced great and shipping was super fast. Over the years of shopping at your Web site, I have never been disappointed.

by:

I would like thank Crystal at etrailer for expediting my order. Thank you again Crystal for all your help and i will be order from you folks again.

Ford VS RoadMaster : not a chance , steering Stabilizer and front sway bar are awesome. Drive ability tremendously improved!
Strongly recommended , easy to install and the price is right!

Thank you to everyone at RoadMaster and A Job Well Done!

by:

I installed both front and rear Road Master anti sway bars on our last RV and they made a tremendous improvement in handling. It was easy for me to install by myself in my driveway on out Coachman Leprechaun 319MB. I highly recommend this product.

by:

Very heavy duty sway bar. Using it on a 2016 Thor Vegas 25.3 RV. Much thicker than original and still holding up fine. Helps to stabilize in high winds and passing trucks. Also added the Safe-T-Plus stabilizer to keep wheels from wandering.

by:

Received my 2019 E450 front Roadmaster sway bar yesterday and installed it today.
Easy install, Instructions sheets was easy to understand. Did a test drive for 10 miles, Boy what a difference. Feels great , nice and tight , now have front and rear sway bars from Etrailer as well as steering stabilizer . makes my Class C handle much easier going down the road. These sway bars are much thicker than the ford standard bars. Etrailer has great videos to show all installs. Thanks Etrailer for all the info.

by:

I purchased and installed both the front and rear Roadmaster anti-sway bars for our class C motorhome. It didn't solve all of our issues but it was a huge step in the right direction. Coupled with a larger steering stabilizer, Bilstein shock absorbers & rear helper air springs, the ride has improved by leaps and bounds. We feel much safer driving down the road in the high winds. Roadmaster makes a great product and install was a breeze. I would recommend their products to anyone.

by:

Susan got my order placed quickly after some order verification questions, it arrived on time as estimated via UPS. I have two of the items installed using help from great ETrailer videos.
Very satisfied!

by:

Felt a big improvement over factory oem sway bar, ride is more stable, better control of vehicle

by:

I purchased a Roadmaster antisway bar to replace the stock bar on my 2012 Pleasureway Excel Motorhome which is on a Ford E350 chassis. I did the install myself and instructions were very clear and was not too difficult to do. Handling is much improved, I have noticed less body roll when turning or going over bumps. I have included photos to show the difference between the stock bar diameter and the beefier Roadmaster bar.

etrailer shipped promptly and customer service was great.

The roadmaster antisway bar is still working great! As a side note, I also had installed professionally the Roadmaster Active Suspension. Between these two products, my motorhome now drives like it’s on rails. Anyone with the same Pleasure Way model should seriously consider both of these products.

by:

Outstanding product and remarkable quality of service from a reputable company. Always available to assist their customers in choosing the correct parts for their particular application. Only gripe I have please try to keep your prices lower than the competition. Service A+, Prices B- Other than Stay Awesome!

Great, they make driving less stressful and keep the RV centered in the lane, do you make a product for towing a vehicle?

by:

Received the product in a timely manner. The shipping company used I’d give a no star rating. I received the anti-sway bar bare out of a box or wrapper with the installation part box and a cut out piece of cardboard with the shipping label on it taped to the bare bar with about five yards of packing tape. The bar was scuffed, scratched and chipped with the RoadMaster label destroyed. I realize it’s going to be installed under the front of my motorhome but as much as it costed I would like to be the one to scratch and scuff it. If I was a company installing this on a customers vehicle I’d return it. I do not believe it was shipped from etrailer in this condition.

After a year and many miles I would give it a five star for sure. Made a great improvement over the stock anti-sway bar. With the rear and front RoadMaster anti-sway along with the RoadMaster steering stabilizer the E-450 33 foot class C motorhome drives like a dream. I highly recommend these three products. If not all at once then this order, 1st rear anti sway bar then 2nd front and then the steering stabilizer with the spring on it.

  • Comparing Roadmaster and Hellwig Sway Bars for Motorhome Built on E-450 Chassis
Roadmasters priority when it comes to their sway bars is top notch quality and the easiest install for the customer. This typically cuts the install time down enough that you end up saving money if you pay to have the bars installed or decide to do it yourself. Hellwig bars will work great once installed but they aren't as easy to install and their hardware isn't quite as nice so over the long haul you pay less with the Roadmaster bars. The rear bar you'd need for your 2014 Motorhome...
