Wire Gauge for Installation of Progressive Dynamics 9300 Series Converter Charger on 2024 GD Imagine

Question:

I am looking to replace my WFCO 9855-AD 55 amp converter with the Progressive Dynamics PD79RR 60 amp converter. I have a 2024 Grand Design Imagine AIM 15bh. I believe my rig has 8 gauge wire running from the converter to the battery. Do I need to replace my wiring with larger gauge if I replace my converter with the PD79RR? Its about an 8-10 foot run of wire. I was hoping this replacement would be an easy swap but just want to make sure its safe. Thanks!

Hey Scott! If you install the Progressive Dynamics 9300 Series RV Converter Charger # PD79RR you will need to swap out your wire. Progressive Dynamics calls for 6 AWG even under 10' and you want to follow their guidelines. This will keep everything safe and also makes sure you won't void the warranty.
