How Much Travel will I Lose in My Rear Suspension with Air Lift Air Bags Installed 2025 Tacoma?

Question:

I have a 2025 Tacoma and interested in installing one of your air lifter loadlifter 5000 kits on my truck. My question is how much travel will i lose in the rear if I go off-roading or need more flex than normal or does the bag just travel with the normal suspension?

Hello Jason,

Congrats on the new ride! What is your new favorite feature?

The Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 kit for your 2025 Tacoma is made to support heavy loads and towing by adding extra cushion between the frame and axle. When you’re driving normally or off-roading without a heavy load, and the bags are aired down to their minimum (around 5 PSI), they move with your suspension and you shouldn’t lose much flex or travel. However, if the bags are fully inflated to carry a heavy load, they stiffen things up and can limit how much your suspension can move, especially how far your axle can drop when a wheel goes way down (like when off-roading over big dips). For most regular use, you won’t notice a huge difference. To better answer your question at 5 PSI typically less than 1 inch.

If you’re doing serious off-roading and need full articulation, you might consider adding limit straps or special cradles that let the air bags separate from the axle during full droop. You can find those at your local auto store like Autozone.

Just to verify, the Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 Air Helper Springs - Rear Axle # AL45DQ are the correct fit for your 2025 Toyota Tacoma.
