Can Parkit360 Force "Jackknife" Trailer For Maneuvering On Driveway

Updated 10/14/2026 | Published 10/11/2026

Question:

I have 2 dual axle trailers. A steel fly bed and a 7x14 enclosed trailer. Both need to be jackknife onto my driveway. The street I’m on is 32 feet wide and I block it while maneuvering the trailers. Will the parkit 360 jack knife the trailers onto my apron. The fly bed is always empty once I get home with it. The other trailer has tools and materials in it.

Hey Larry! Yes, the Parkit360 Force Electric Trailer Dolly # PA46VR will allow you to maneuver your trailers into your driveway without having to use your tow vehicle. You can position the dolly at a sharp angle to the trailer tongue, essentially what would be a jackknife position with your truck, giving you a lot more flexibility when maneuvering in tight spaces.

Depending on the layout of your driveway, you may have to work back and forth a little to get the trailers positioned where you want them. You'll also free up a lot of space on your street by eliminating the tow vehicle, making it easier to maneuver without blocking traffic. The Parkit360 can handle trailers weighing up to 10,000 lbs, so you'll just need to make sure both trailers fall within that capacity.

Do you know approximately how much each trailer weighs?

Hi Larry, The Parkit360 will definitely be able to jack knife your trailer. I have a 27 foot travel trailer. The only caveats are, I need to remove my foot for my electric jack, otherwise it may interfere with the Parkit360 wheels (tires). Also, you need to put a little weight into turning the Parkit360. I usually just push my hip into the steering bar, it’s easier than trying to manhandle it with just your arms. One other consideration, if your street. Is paved probably no problems at all, providing you are not fighting a grade more than 6 degrees. However, if you are on a gravel road you could run into some challenges, because there is a possibility of wheel slippage. Overall, I love the Parkit360; I can position my trailer with relative ease. One last consideration, make sure you purchase the appropriate unit for the tongue weight and weight of your trailer.

One additional comment, the Parkit360 has a switch to select speed between slow and fast. This should allow you enough time to clear your unit from the street, and reduce traffic obstruction.

@Gene thanks for sharing your experience! Those are some great tips, especially about the jack foot clearance and maneuvering on different surfaces. Glad to hear the Parkit360 has been working well for you!

@Gene good point! Having the option to adjust the speed is definitely helpful when maneuvering in tight spaces. Thanks again for sharing!

In agreement with eveything Gene said. I have 19 foot Airstream and have to take the foot off to make tight turns or it rubs on the tires. My only issue is my driveway apron is 5% and the trailer wheels get stuck in the gutter. The tires on the Parkit360 just spin and will not pull the trailer up the slope. I now have to put wood down to cut the apron angle. I also had the SuperHandy, but had less control, so I switched to the Parkit360.

@Rhino that's a great way to handle the driveway apron! Sometimes a simple workaround like that is all it takes to make things work. Glad you're getting better control with the Parkit360!
