What Is The Best Bolt In Valve Stem For Trailer Tire With 5/8" Hole In The JFW 16" Rim ?

Updated 10/07/2026 | Published 10/05/2026

Question:

Hello, I am looking for a bolt in valve stem that fits a JFW 16, 6 bolt recessed rim. The valve area is 5/8, to my best guess. I want to use TPMS without blowing valve stems going down the road. What do u recommend? Thank you. Curt

Hi there!

For your 16" JFW wheel, I recommend the Americana metal bolt-in valve stem # AM20906. It fits both 0.453" and 0.625" valve-stem openings, so if your wheel opening measures about 5/8", this would be a perfect fit since 5/8" comes out to 0.625".

The metal bolt-in design is also a better choice for supporting an external TPMS sensor than a standard rubber valve stem, and it is rated for up to 200 psi.

What kind of trailer is this going on? And what kind of TPMS are you using? That's always a good idea to be on the safe side since most trailer tire blowouts are from under/over inflation.

I have a Alliance Avenue 5th Wheel Camper and using Tymate TPMS. The TPMS is so handy, I can check the tire pressure daily by looking at the display unit. Also has set off high tire temperature alerts for me to adjust my driving habits or stop to let cool.

@CurtisJ Oh that's a nice setup! Yes that would be very handy with the display it comes with. Glad you're being safe out there. Some folks towing heavy are not safe lol.

I purchased the Americana steel AM20906 valve stems for my new Liger 16 6 wheels. They came with stems rated for up to 110 PSI. The new tires I’m running g on the toyhauler have a max PSI of 120. These new stems are Rated for up to 200psi. Crazy to install. I’m will be running the new H rated tires at 115psi. I glad I bought the new stems.
