Can I Remove The Active Spoiler When Installing A Front Hitch On A 2025 Toyota Tundra?
Updated 10/14/2026 | Published 10/03/2026 >
Question:
I have a 2025 tundra 1794. I could give a frig about the spoiler . My question is can I remove the spoiler and leave the motor in place. Toyoa has it riveted in place . Owed to the nightmare of moder electrical systems I do not want to remove it lol. Nothing worse than screwing with a electrical gremlin… not to mention voiding warranty potential… I really want me tundra to have the ability to do truck stuff… you guys and gals at etrailer are fantastic Ty for the help??

Hey Dennis, welcome back. You are thinking about this the right way. On your 2025 Tundra 1794, you can remove the active spoiler itself and leave the motor/actuator plugged in and mounted. There are a few things to keep in mind though.
First, removing the front spoiler can cause the truck to throw fault codes. The good news is there are active spoiler delete modules out there that will prevent these warnings. That will be the best way to remove the spoiler while appeasing the electrical gremlin.
Second, Toyota does not officially approve modifying or disassembling the active spoiler system, so I cannot promise anything regarding warranty coverage.
If your goal is to install a front hitch and not have any error codes, removing the spoiler, keeping the motor in place, and getting a delete module will be the way to go.
What "truck stuff" will you be using the front hitch for?

hehehe well thanks to you good folks at eTrailer (sounds like i like you guys lol it is LOVE not like lol) my love affair with my Tundra is back on. I was able to install the turn ball hitch/gooseneck hitch that I with the help of etrailer i was able to get the correct part for my Tundra. that allowed me to get a small 5th wheel and escape 5.0 and it worked fantastic i recommend the Anderson hitch just sayin... The front recieve will allow me to maneuver my boat as a have a tight yard and must do an S turn to put my boat away... Now i am GenX so i love Austin Powers however i truly despise it when i have to do the Austin Powers turn... that is about a hundred movements to put the boat away... the front receiver takes that out of the Eq and puts me firmly in control. My last Expedition i put one on i got from you guys and it was a game changer... I loved the power and reliability of Toyota and that when there is an issue Toyota takes care of it, I love the high resale value and most of all i was able to get ZERO percent finance...however its still more car than truck like a 1500 or F150... I now love my Tundra again as i can do more Truck stuff than i could before. Any recommendations on the module???asking for a friend
