Replacement Refrigerator for a Dometic RM2551

Question:

Hello! I have a Dometic RM2551 fridge that is on its way out at the age of 20 years. Works on AC, but not gas. I am going to replace the controller board. If that does not solve the problem not cooling on gas I will likely be replacing the unit. Any suggestions for a plug and play fridge? I intend to install it myself. Thank you

Hey Doug. The closest replacement option I have for your Dometic RM2551, is the Vitrifrigo DP150i Double Door RV Mini Fridge w/ Freezer item # VT94FR. This refrigerator measures 23-1/8" wide x 43-9/16" tall x 22-1/4" deep. It runs off of 12/24 V DC.

The Vitrifrigo DP150i item # VT94FR has a separate freezer above the fridge. The door hardware can be moved to allow you to have a left or right hand opening. It includes two adjustable wire-coated shelves, a tempered glass shelf, and two crisper drawers in the fridge.

Please note that the item # VT94FR has to be hardwired. I do not have a plug in option close to the size of your current Dometic fridge.
