Hello. I’m looking for a high quality replacement for my Atwood 61101 break actuator. I see that you sometimes recommend the Demco DM72VR but it has gotten some poor reviews. Do you sell a higher end replacement? Thank you! Adam

Hey Adam! Demco is actually one of the higher quality options, and I would recommend it as a replacement for your Atwood 61101. Nothing is without negative reviews, and the majority for the Demco Hydraulic Brake Actuator # DM72VR are positive. Demco has a great reputation overall and makes reliable products.
This will be a nice upgrade from your Atwood since it features the EZ-Latch coupler. This lets you drop the coupler onto the hitch ball without having to open the latch first. It looks like you already picked up the # DM72VR, so I think you made the right choice.
What kind of trailer are you installing it on?

The Demco Surge Brake works very well! My old one was welded on, so for $50 I had a shop cut off the old and re-weld the new one on. It was easy to bleed the system, and seems to be working incredibly well. I was a little disappointed that it didn't have a lockout for reverse while putting into the water, but I found that a long ½ inch ratchet extension works good for temporary backing only (although I haven't needed to use it so far, but good info to know) =]

We purchased one a couple years ago as well. It installed easy and has work flawlessly thus far. We would recommend this product to anyone and E-tailer is always a great place to do business with.

I purchased this item a couple of years ago and have not had any problems with it. The only thing I don’t like about it is that you have to add a reverse solenoid for it to disconnect when backing up a hill. I didn’t want to replace hydraulic lines so I just bent it up to fit without a solenoid. I am still able to use a hitch pin to disable the brakes when backing up a hill. I would recommend this item.
