Updated 09/11/2026 | Published 09/06/2026

Question:

Hello. I’m in need of t slot nuts that fit a BAKFlip mx4 tonneau cover. I ordered a rough country adjustable crossbar and the fasteners provided do not fit the t rail. Thanks

Hello Tom,

Thanks for writing in.

Thanks for getting back to me with all of that information! Those measurements were exactly what I needed.

For your BAKFlip MX4 TS BAK-449130TS and Rough Country 88207 crossbars, you will want the Replacement T-Bolt with Nut for Yakima Rack and Roll Trailers # Y8880184.

The T-bolt head measures 3/4" x 3/4" and is 5/32" thick. With the measurements RealTruck gave you of 20 to 22 mm inside the track, an 11 to 12 mm opening, and 5 to 6 mm of depth, the T-bolt head will fit inside the track and the threaded portion will fit through the opening.

The nice thing with # Y8880184 is that it comes with four T-bolts, washers, and locking nuts, so you will have the hardware you need to secure the Rough Country crossbar feet without having to piece everything together separately.

BAK and Yakima do not specifically test these two products together, but we have the measurements for both, and they line up for what you are trying to do.

Thank you for sending all of those measurements over. That made this one a whole lot easier to nail down!

What do you plan on hauling around with this set-up?

Hi Kate The BAKFlip part number from Real Truck is BAK-449130TS and the SKU number from Rough Country is 88207-config. Config is defined in this case by a full sized bed. Once selected the SKU changs to 88207. Thanks Real Truck supplied the following information: The BAKFlip MX4 TS utilizes the standard automotive roof rack channel dimensions for its integrated T-slots, which is a universal profile shared across major rack brands like Yakima, Thule, and Rhino-Rack. Top opening slot (neck width): ~11mm to 12mm (7/16 to 1/2"). This is the narrow gap where the threaded bolt passes through. Internal bottom track (vase width): ~20mm to 22mm (~13/16"). This is the wider internal channel where the head of the t-bolt or hammer nut slides and locks. Maximum internal depth clearance: ~5mm to 6mm. I found a t-bolt that works, but if you have a better option, I'd really appreciate it!

A rooftop is the main goal. I'm sure I'll set this up for bikes and gear as well. Do you have any user feedback on the rooftop tents?

@Tom You cannot go wrong with Thule! They are so comfortable, and I really wish I had one! My favorite new one they came out with is the Thule Widesky Rooftop Tent - 2 Person - 660 lbs - Dark Slate # TH34FR47ZC. We have one of their older style ones here at etrailer that I got to stay in when I worked a bike race here in Missouri, the mattresses in them are extremely comfortable! What size are you looking for?

@KateF Just made a purchase last night. Been running comparisons for oh... a few weeks now, sounds exhausting but it's my process. I went with a Topoak Vision L.
