This is the bolt that holds it all together for your Thule roof-rack gutter feet (towers). The M8 T-bolt installs through the back of your roof-rack foot and holds the mounting bracket and hand knob in place, tightening the whole system to your roof.

Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a quick look at this Thule replacement M8 T-bolt. This is going replace one M8 T-bolt for your Thule roof rack gutter feet, or towers. This is going to work with your Thule 5-inch-high gutter feet, your Thule 8-inch-high gutter feet, or your Thule specialty foot packs with thin gutter vehicles. All those part numbers that you can see on the screen there. This is a direct replacement from Thule, so you can trust it is gonna work with all those.
You're not gonna have to worry about compatibility issues or anything like that. This will hold the mounting bracket and hand knob in place on the foot and tighten the entire system to your vehicle roof. Just to give you a few measurements here, you can see this is right about two and a quarter of an inch and overall length are thread lengths. It's gonna be right about two inches. So if you're needing to replace one of those M8 T-bolts for your Thule roof rack gutter feet, this is gonna be exactly what you need.

This part works pretty well for me, my only comment is that the screw part (for lack of technicality) although longer, as I needed, is also thicker and will not fit the same hole-size the other gutter feet I had purchased (thinking they would be about the same).

The head on this is not 22mm as advertised, it's actually 3/4" or ~19mm and more rounded than stock Thule. This means that the bolt will freely spin when placed into a Thule, in my case Land Rover, T-Slot. I made this work by cutting a slot in the top of the threads to use a screw driver to prevent it spinning while tightening. Otherwise great to have these available.
Exactly as described and helpful for mounting older style racks to aerobars
These bolts fit my old locking knobs and are plenty long, however the square end is not a tight fit for the feet to clamp lock setup. They twist when near tightness, hence I use locking pliers to seal the deal. A little more square beneath the head would fit feet/clamps better.

Hard to imagine writing a review for a t-bolt, but here it is: the ordered t-bolt was delivered on time and in good shape! I will say having access to a t-bolt meant I didn't need to replace my entire bike rack when I swapped cars which required a new roof rack with a different t-slot dimension-
Way too expensive. $x.xx for a simple 5/16 bolt is utterly ridiculous.
I bought 12 to hold my ladder racks to my bed topper t-slot rails.
I went by the dimensions on the site but when I recieved them I found there is a pyramid shape on the underside of the t-slot head which will not be good for my aluminum slots as only a slight fraction will contact the inside of the slot. Very good chance of distorting my rail.
The listing description and pictures showed nothing of this.
$xx some dollars for a few bolts that are useless to me.
I purchased a Yakima roof rack and needed bolts for the T-Slot. The folks here at e-trailer answered my questions quickly and provided me with the item number. When my packaged first arrived it was empty…no bolts, but a simple email had a new envelope and bolts mailed right away.

Needed to replace the t-bolts on a Mini branded rooftop cargo capsule to fit Jeep Wrangle 2021 Mopar roof rack. These matched in threading, length, and diameter to both products. It would be great if whoever actually makes the rooftop and cargo accessories (Thule, Yakima, etc.) could be identified rather than going through the relabeling guessing game.

Bought this to mount a BMW cargo box to my Thule AeroBlade vis the gutter mount. The thread pitch matched the BMW screw knob (M8 / 1.25) but the square head on the T-bolt rotates freely in the gutter making it hard to tighten. The BMW T-bolt was rectangular to prevent this. The saving grace with this bolt is that the bolt is slightly tapered near the head so it lightly catches on the track (barely). Not the best bolt to get to mount my cargo box but hard to even find a T-bolt with M8 / 1.25.
I bought these bolts to attach my Thule ski rack to the crossbars on my 2015 XC60 Volvo. While slightly long, the bolts do work and I have had no problems with them or their attachment to the crossbars. I'm thankful I was able to find these bolts because I was getting absolutely no response from Thule. Thank you etrailer.
