Hi Paul!

You are correct in that you cannot store the ball in the B&W Turnoverball Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch w/ Custom Installation Kit - 30,000 lbs # BW96FR when installed on your 2026 Toyota Tundra i-Max Limited. The reason for that is there is a very high probability of the ball making contact with your differential, which would be bad.

So what you are going to need to keep it clean is the B&W Rubber Cover for Empty Turnoverball Socket # BWGNXA1715. This one is specifically for trucks that run into this and it will push right into the square hole where the ball typically goes. I included an image of this installed so you can see what I mean.

Are you wanting this just to keep everything clean when not in use or are you typically hauling a lot of stuff in your bed?
