What Brake Controller do I Need for My 2024 Ford Expedition XLT with Tow Package?

Need a brake controller for 2024 ford expedition xlt. It does have the basic tow prep package from the manufacturer but does not come with trailer brake controller

Welcome to etrailer, I'm glad you found us!

For your 2024 Ford Expedition XLT, you will want the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller # RED52VR. I really like this brake controller because it's proportional, so you're going to get nice smooth braking. Also having the knob at arms reach for easy adjustability or for the manual override (most of the time is used to correct sway) is a nice touch.

I was able to confirm with both Curt and Redarc that they do not have a vehicle-specific pigtail listed for the 2024 Expedition, so you will need to splice in the universal wiring harness that comes with # RED52VR.

However, if you're able to look under your dash and see a factory brake controller connector there, please respond directly to the email you receive with a picture of the connector. I'll be happy to take a look at it and see if we can find you a plug-in option before you start splicing into anything.
