Question:

Since the furrion chill he with conversion kit could be considered a plug and play replacement for Dometic air conditioners would a Dometic SmartStart be compatible with the furrion chill He rooftop unit? Specifically DMC87RR. I am using the existing Dometic thermostat and control box and just replacing the rooftop unit

Unfortunately, it will not Scott. There's not enough room to install the Dometic Soft Start item # DMC87RR inside the Furrion Chill HE like item # FR82PV. It's 8-1/4" long x 3-3/4" wide x 5" tall. The wiring plugs are going to match up and the rest just has to be wired into the compressor so you're good there. There's just no where to put it.

You could use the SoftStartRV Soft Start for Single Zone Air Conditioner Setup item # SSR54FR instead. It has a significantly smaller footprint at 5-1/2" long x 2-7/8" wide x 2" tall. This one has to be manually wired in. I attached a wiring schematic below so you can see how to get it setup.

The 13,500 Btu Furrion Chill HE Replacement RV Air Conditioner item # FR62PV for black or item # FR82PV for white already come with a start capacitor to help with the voltage surge. We also carry the 15,000 Btu Furrion Chill HE Replacement RV Air Conditioner for Coleman Setup item # FR32PV. All of these AC systems come with the plug in adapter you'll need.

What kind of RV is this going on and how is it typically powered?

Okay, so the wiring matches up and the soft start would operate as intended, correct? The only issue seems to be that there wouldn't be room for the soft start to mount in the air conditioner?

Let me rephrase that. The wiring on the Dometic Smart start matches up correctly with the furrion chill he 15K and the Smart start would operate correctly, correct? The only issue seems to be that the Smart start and mounting bracket is too big to fit inside the Furrion Chill he ?
