MORryde CRE3000 Suspension Upgrade for a 2020 Highland Ridge Open Range 328BHS

Updated 08/03/2026 | Published 07/27/2026

Question:

I am looking to upgrade the suspension on my 2020 Highland Ridge Open Range 328BHS. I have flat leaf springs. Is there a way that this trailer will upgrade to Morryde CRE Equalizers, Morryde Heavy Duty Wet bolt shackles, Morryde X-Factor Crossovers, and heavy duty 5-leaf springs?

I'd be happy to help with that Kevin! If your leaf springs are starting to flatten out on the 2020 Highland Ridge, this is actually the perfect time to upgrade the rest of the suspension too. The MORryde components work really well together and make a noticeable difference in ride quality and durability.

For the CRE3000 equalizers, you'll first want to measure the distance from the center of your front axle hub to the center of the rear axle hub. If it's 33 inches, you'll need the MORryde CRE3000 # MR87ZR. If it's 35 inches, the correct one is # MR27ZR.

For the wet bolts, I'd recommend one of MORryde's complete suspension upgrade kits since they include the heavy duty shackles and wet bolts. Just measure your current shackle straps from the center of one hole to the center of the other. If they're 2-1/4 inches, you'll want # MR46ZR. If they're 3-1/8 inches, go with # MR76ZR.

Since you're installing the CRE3000, I'd also add the MORryde X-Factor Crossmember for Standard Frame Hangers, Part # MR33WR. It's one of those upgrades that doesn't get talked about enough. It ties the frame hangers together to reduce flex and helps take some of the stress off the suspension, especially on rough roads and long trips.

To recommend the right heavy duty 5 leaf springs, I'll just need one more measurement. With the trailer unloaded, measure your current springs from the center of one eye to the center of the other, and let me know your axle capacity. Once I have those, I can help you with the springs.

Are you mainly trying to smooth out the ride, or what issues are you having?

Add these suspension parts 2 summers ago. There seems to be a better ride than before overall. They came with bronze bushing as much better quality shackles plus being able to grease them with a wet bolt kit is excellent. The OEM bushing were plastic and woren through, the bolts were rusted bad and had no movement. Glad we made the upgrade Scott
