Question:
I have a 2026 ford f350 with a 2.5 inch receiver hitch, I am looking for a extender with a 2 inch and reduce to a 2 inch receiver to carry a motorcycle carrier. The carrier weighs about 40 lbs and the motorcycle weighs about 250 lbs. Whats the best solution so I can open my tail gate?

Hello Kenneth,
Welcome to etrailer! I'm glad you found us.
Thanks for getting that additional information to me. Since you only need a 2" drop to get your carrier to clear your tailgate, these are your best options:
If you only need to go down 2", we have the Roadmaster High-Low Adapter for Tow Bars - 2-1/2" Hitches - 2" Rise/Drop - 10K GTW # RM57MR, it goes into a 2 1/2" receiver, then the bottom receiver will be 2". It has a 400 pound tongue weight rating so it is strong enough for you motorcycle and carrier.
If you wanted to go with a ball mount style as it might come in handy over time, I really like the Gen-Y Adjustable 2-Ball Mount w/ Stacked Receivers - 2-1/2" Hitch - 6" Drop/Rise - 21K # 325-GH-623, it will fit into your 2 1/2" receiver, then give you a stack of (3) 2 1/2" receivers where you can use a reducer like the B&W Hitch Receiver Reducer Sleeve - 2-1/2" to 2" # BWRHXA2182.
Where do you mainly take your bike to? Do you race?

Hi Kate, I don't really need to extend but I do need to lower it by 2 inches or so. To extend it past the tail gate would need 1 foot, but if there is an extension that lowers the hitch carrier 2 inches the tail gate won't hit the carrier when it is down.
