What is the maximum tongue weight for this adapter?

Hi Steve; the Curt High-Low Adapter for Tow Bars # C27KR does not have a max tongue weight rating. This is specifically designed for flat towing, not trailer towing or accessories, which is why they don't give it that rating.

This adapter allows you to allow for the difference in base plate and tow hitch. This keeps the base plate to tow bar height to be kept within a safe height difference. Most RV hitches are well above the base plate height, so an adapter is required. I’ve flat towed my Chevy Equinox an average of 8000miles/year over the past three years using this method.

Yes it is designed for flat towing a vehicle behind a motorhome etc. Flat towed vehicles (4 down) typically have very little tongue weight, this is what THIS adapter is designed for. We tow a GMC terrain behind a diesel motorhome, good luck!!
