Updated 07/30/2026 | Published 07/25/2026

Question:

Hey etrailer, I'm replacing the AC on our fifth wheel and see four Fogatti 18K systems. What is the difference between them, and which one would you recommend?

Hey Michael! All four Fogatti InstaCool RV AC Systems provide 18,000 Btu of cooling, so you only need to decide whether you want a heat pump and whether you prefer a black or white rooftop unit. You can choose from the following:

-Fogatti InstaCool RV AC System - 18K Btu - Ducted or Non-Ducted - White # FG32VR

-Fogatti InstaCool RV AC System - 18K Btu - Ducted or Non-Ducted - Black # FG25VR

-Fogatti InstaCool RV AC w/ Heat Pump - 18K Btu - Ducted/Non-Ducted - White # FG85VR

-Fogatti InstaCool RV AC w/ Heat Pump - 18K Btu - Ducted/Non-Ducted - Black # FG72VR

The heat pump models add 16,000 Btu of electric heating for cool mornings and evenings. Each system includes the rooftop unit, air distribution box, and remote control for a complete replacement. If you only camp in the spring or summer the standard unit is probably best. If you're out there when it gets colder you probably want the heat pump model instead.

Where and what time of year do you normally camp?
