Will the Coleman-Mach Everest 18K BTU AC Work with the In-Command System on My Keystone?

Question:

I have a Keystone Alpine 3220RL that is prewired for a 3rd AC unit in the Kitchen. Will this unit work with that prewire and operate on the In-Command system. will it also be able to utilize the prewired thermostat?

Hello Vernon,

Great question. I actually reached out to Coleman-Mach to make sure.

Based on what they told me, if your Keystone Alpine 3220RL was equipped with the In-Command system and factory prepped for a third AC, the Coleman-Mach Mach-C Everest # CM55MR will integrate with that setup and utilize the factory thermostat through the In-Command system.

For the installation, you'll connect the unit to the factory wiring provided at the third AC prep location. Since Keystone already prewired that location for an additional air conditioner, there typically isn't any need to run new wiring through the coach. Simply connect the Everest to the existing power and control wiring at the roof opening and follow the installation instructions for the final setup.

The manufacturer confirmed that if your coach was equipped with the In-Command system and factory prepped for a third AC, the Coleman-Mach Mach-C Everest # CM55MR will integrate with that setup. That makes it a great choice for adding cooling capacity to your kitchen area while continuing to use the factory controls.

Thank you for looking into this. It is interesting. Coleman tech support gave me a completely different answer and said that the thermostat on the Mach C using different technology and more than the 2 wire thermostats that the pre-installed Mach-15K and the pre-wire thermostats come with so it will not communicate and run properly with the pre-wired Keystone setup. I did end up getting a 15K Coleman Mach from you guys and it is now operating perfect and keeping us cool in some really hot temperatures. Should have installed this along time ago!!!

@Vernon Thanks for letting us know what ended up working for you Vernon. Kind of frustrating that we received different information from the Tech's, but that happens as there is usually more than one way. I'm glad you are staying cooler in these hot months. We held off on the heat pretty good here in Missouri, first heat advisory now through Thursday =)
