Which MCD Roller Shade Spring Repair Kit for 2023 Alliance Paradigm with 5 ft Roller Shade

Question:
I have MCD roller shade in a 2023 Alliance Paradigm. I think the spring broke on a 5 ft wide x 3 ft long shade. Can you tell me what spring kit i need without taking the shade loose from the valance?

Hey Lore, based on the length of your current MCD roller shade the correct repair kit is the part # MC74SR. You will not have to drop your shade or check out any portion of it to know this is correct as this is correct kit for shades that are 55 inches in longer like yours. Was the shade used a lot before it broke?

I have the 2021 Alliance Paradigm 310RL and had to repair one of the 2 shades over the dinning table and recliners. The part # for the repair kit mentioned MC74SR is correct for the 5ft window shade. Problem I had is removing the shade from the valance. The valances holding each window shade have a decorative piece of molding that is stapled to each valance. It’s difficult to remove it without damaging it but once removed you can remove each valance more easily. I left the decorative piece off when I put the valance back up. Regards, Tim F
