When the sun pours into your RV's big windows, it can feel like a spotlight if your shades don't work. This large spring kit restores tension in wide shades, giving you smooth control and privacy again.
A shade that won't work isn't just annoying - it throws off the whole feel of your space. Imagine: it's midafternoon and the sun's pouring through your RV windows. Instead of feeling open and bright, it's more like standing under a spotlight. The heat builds fast, turning your living space into an oven. You try lowering the shade, but it won't stay down, or rolls up on its own. Without spring tension, the glare takes over, the temperature climbs, and your comfort disappears quicker than the kids when it's time to do the dishes. Once your shade is fixed, you'll get your cool, quiet space back. And while it can't make the kids do the dishes, at least you won't have to do them in a sauna.
Large kits are made for RV shades 55" wide and larger. If you're close to the max width of a medium shade, it won't hurt to go up to this size. The only limit is the spring size and whether it fits inside your shade's roller tube. These wide shades need the right spring to stay balanced. So before you order, check the spring inside your shade. If the internal diameter measures 28 mm, this is the right kit. If you have a standard tape measure, that will be about 1-1/8", or a little bigger than the size of a quarter. If it measures closer to 11/16", about the size of a dime, you'll need one of the 17 mm spring kits instead.
Nothing stops a repair faster than missing hardware. This kit includes the spring, clips, screws, and endcaps, so you can fix the problem in one go and get your shade working like new. And all you need is 3 tools: a pair of pliers, a 1/8" Allen wrench, and a flat-head screwdriver.

Exactly what we needed. Perfect fit!
It was the proper part to repair the non-retracting MCD shade on our Pleasure-Way. My only issue is with the design of the part. The spring on the failed part was still intact but had lost its attachment to the inner shaft. That attachment point should be more robust.
The product is great. Your team failed with support. You did refer me to the MCD support and they were able to solve the problem. Your videos are not bad but lack the information needed to solve the issues that come with reassembly.
We have a 2 shade system in our Motorhome's bathroom. Our grandson over extended the back out shade. I tried to reset it but that did not work. The shade would just completely fall down. Once I removed the two shade bracket, repairing the broken shade parts was very easy both installing and adjusting. The directions were good. This shade now works as it should. Also the spring mechanism inside of the broken shade had pulled away from its base. I may have been able to repair it but given the reasonable cost of the new hardware, I decided not to risk needing to do it over.
Worked out great great product thank you very much. Easier to deal with you.
Great folks to talk to real helpfull and got me the right repair kit. Thank you
