Is 13,500 Btu GE Low-Profile AC Appropriately Sized For 138 ft³ Trailer

Updated 07/18/2026 | Published 07/15/2026

Question:

GE53ZR is an option we were looking to use. Our cabin is only 23Sqft. and 6 feet high making it around 138 cubic feet. Is the 13000 BTU/hr a good size to use for cooling?

Hey Eddie! Yes, a 13,500 Btu capacity is actually perfect for your trailer size. Also, the # GE53ZR is just the rooftop unit. You will need a complete system replacement unless you already have an R32 GE on the roof. You can choose from the following based on ducted/ductless and color:

-GE Appliances HE Low-Profile AC System w/ Heat Pump - 13.5K Btu - Non-Ducted - White - R32 # GE86RR

-GE Appliances HE Low-Profile AC System w/ Heat Pump - 13.5K Btu - Non-Ducted - Black -R32 # GE66RR

-GE Appliances HE Low-Profile AC System w/ Heat Pump - 13,500 Btu - Ducted - White - R32 # GE76RR

-GE Appliances HE Low-Profile AC System w/ Heat Pump - 13,500 Btu - Ducted - Black - R32 # GE46RR

All of these include the rooftop AC unit, air distribution box, control board, and thermostat. This is everything you need for a complete installation.

What kind of trailer do you have?
