Ratchet Repair for Dutton-Lainson 1802A Winch

Question:
On my Profile 2000 DL1802A boat winch, the rachet lock doesn't spring and hold close. I can manually push it in but feel it could pop out on big bump. How can I fix?

Thanks for your question.
Based on what you've described, I'd recommend the Winch Ratchet Repair Kit by Dutton-Lainson # DL70475. This kit replaces the common ratchet components that can wear or become damaged over time, including the parts that allow the ratchet pawl to engage properly.
The # DL70475 is compatible with several Dutton-Lainson winches, including your DL1802A, as long as it was manufactured after 1999.
