Recommended Flat Towing Parts for a 2026 GMC Sierra 1500

You sure can Joe, and congrats on the new truck! You will need a high/low adapter that's a bit taller though since your Sierra is lifted. Something like the 8" item # RM-048-8 or the 10-1/4" item # RM-048-10 depending on how low to the ground your motorhome's hitch is.

A high low adapter is going to bring your tow bar level with the baseplate on your Sierra. You'll want them as close to level as possible so you don't put extra torque and pressure on the tow bar arms. This is especially important during heavy braking.

To flat tow your 2026 GMC Sierra 1500 with the X31 Package, I recommend the following parts:

Tow Bar and Safety Cables - etrailer XHD Non-Binding Tow Bar for Blue Ox Base Plates item # e67ZR

Base Plate - Blue Ox Base Plate Kit item # BLU35XR

Please note that this base plate kit will not work with the AT4X models with AEV bumper. It is compatible with both 2WD and 4WD models.

Wiring Harness - Roadmaster 4-Diode Universal Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles - item # RM-15267

Battery Disconnect - Roadmaster Battery Disconnect with Switch item # RM-766 for gas item # RM93MR for diesel

Supplemental Braking System - SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO Supplemental Braking System item # SM99251 or item # SM99243 if your motorhome has air brakes.
