Looking to see what class hitch I would need to pull a 4x8 trailer with a 500 lbs piece of equipment on it.

Hey Curt! What matters here is the capacity of the hitch and your vehicle. The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C64DR is capable of handling 2,000 lbs.

Assuming the 500 lb equipment plus the weight of the trailer is under the capacity of the hitch you can use this despite it being a Class I. It also looks like the vehicle towing capacity is 1,500 lbs, which will be your limit despite the hitch.

You will also need a 4-way to power the signal lights on your trailer. If your Corolla Cross has LED lights you need # C55ZV and if it has incandescent lights you need # C39DR.
