Question:
I recently bought a Rocky Mounts Gigawatt rack for my ebike. This particular rack comes with a ramp for the ebike so you dont need to lift it onto the rack, however, theres no clever place to stow the ramp when not in use. I was thinking of just picking up some straps and strapping it to the rack, but is there a more elegant solution?

Hi Anne!
At this time, there isn't a more elegant solution. The ramp of the RockyMounts Gigawatt Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 2" Hitches - Wheel Mount # RKY37MR is not designed to stay on the rack, so typically it's stored inside the vehicle to prevent loss or theft and that's truly going to be the best option. You could use something like Yakima Cinch Straps w/ Padded Cam Buckles - 16' Long - Qty 2 # Y05006, but with that you're running the risk of them being lost on the road and having to replace the ramp so it's not recommended.
Are you currently planning an e-bike trip or are you just carrying your bikes locally? I really like that Gigawatt rack. How is it working for you and your needs?

Thanks Jerry! It feels like an oversight esp since there's a perfect spot on the main frame to mount it. I may risk it and try the straps anyway. My husband and I just got our ebikes last month and the rack gives us the opportunity to explore places outside our "local circle." We've been really enjoying being able to take short excursions to the towns near us that are just a little too far to walk.
