Could Scissor Jacks TJSCHD-24 be Used without Mounting Them to Trailer

Question:
We have a Rockwood popup 1940 LTD and want to use these jacks to stabilize the front of the trailer. We are not going to mount the jacks, would these work OK or should we buy something else? Thanks

Hey Ginnie, generally it's best to have the scissor jacks like the part # TJSCHD-24 mounted to the trailer but if you are on level enough and sturdy enough ground then you could use them without installing them.

I dont think these would work well not being connected to the frame. Perhaps a small bottle jack would be what you're looking for. These jacks are a well build product. And worked well as a replacement for our stabilizer on a 22 ft travel trailer

I attached a pressure treated block of 2x4 to my Jacks, and use them under the front of the frame, without mounting them. I always level the trailer, lower the rear jacks that are attached. Then add these to the front after the fact to provide extra stabilization.
