WFCO WF-8955-AD-MBA Converter Is Showing Green Light When Charing Lithium Batteries

Question:
Purchased your WFCO AD MDA converter for my lithium batteries in my gulfstream 24 foot conquest motorhome. Took the charge down to 30 and recharged. Still green. Didn’t turn blue??

Hey Richard, thanks for reaching out. If the WF-8955-AD-MBA # WF76FR is still showing green after you installed it and discharged the batteries to around 30%, the first thing I'd check is whether the converter is actually seeing the batteries as lithium. The auto-detect WFCO boards don't switch to lithium mode instantly. They have to observe the battery voltage and charging behavior over a period of time before they'll change modes, and sometimes that can take several charge/discharge cycles.
So, I wouldn't panic quite yet. I'd put a meter on the batteries while the converter is actively charging and see what voltage it's actually producing. That'll tell us a lot more than the LED color.
What charging voltage are you seeing at the battery terminals when plugged into shore power?

So Jesse, he also set the batteries up with the neg from battery 1 neg to the neg on battery 2 then to the neg on smart shunt where had both negs individually from each battery to the shunt. Either way ok??

Hi Richard I installed this converter in my lance trailer a few months ago, along with a 320ah LITIME battery. I can’t see the lights, but it has been working flawlessly charging my battery to 99% every time, which is good because you don’t want to charge lithium to 100%. If your battery has blue tooth I would just go by what that’s telling you. I also would recommend installing a smart shunt which you can get from Etrailer, ( they can recommend which one to get) it gives you even more detailed information on how your battery is doing than the BMS. Happy camping hope this helps Lloyd

Checking the battery with shore power plugged in, it shows 100% charged with 13.66 voltage.
