Hi everyone, Steven here with etrailer. Today we're taking a quick look at a main board replacement assembly for the WFCO auto detect RV converter chargers, specifically the 55 amp ones. So folks, this main board assembly will only work with those WFCO WF-8955 power centers, and it uses the auto detect technology to recognize your battery's chemistry and then automatically adjust the charging profile to match. So, you pretty much probably already know that 'cause, again, this is just a replacement circuit board assembly. Of course, you got your fan here, all your wiring, and then of course the main circuitry. And then, of course, it sits on the plastic base.
Now when I measured this insert I got overall, again, we're counting that base here, it's the widest point, I got 9 1/2 wide, 7 1/8 wide this way, front to back, and about four inches tall over all. I received my converter last week and installed it over the weekend. My furnace would surge a constantly when hooked up to shore power. Ran fine on on battery power. Installed the new converter and have no issues with the furnace surging when on shore power. The old one is 19 years old. Thanks etrailer and WFCO.

The PDU arrived on Monday and I installed it that night.
The PDU is a direct ft replacement for my 20yr old one. No issues at all with the install (take pics beforehand to be sure all wires are connected correctly).
I had fully discharged LoPo house batteries and the system detected and charged them (running the generator)
USPS is still snail mail, it took 8 days to arrive. Yikes!
Anyway, this converter took just a few minutes to install and worked amazingly!
etrailer had good information and a great price and was my 2nd choice after WFCO who still offered much advice as well.

So far, I am very happy with it. It is a direct replacement just pulled the old one out and put the new one in and hook it up. No messing with anything strange. And the automatic part for the batteries is functional, and it does work. If you start with fully charged batteries and then cycle once or twice, the charger will know what kinds you have. I charged them accordingly, and if you decide to change the type of battery from, let's say, lead to lithium again. Start with a fully charged battery and then after it cycles once or twice it will automatically know what kind of battery is in there
At least it did for me.

It appears to work though I don’t know where to find the led mentioned in the manual. Install is easy. Takes 30 min at most. Without knowing where to see the led lights I can’t confirm which mode I am using though it is putting out a charge
Order status from eTrailer was great - never any question about status of my order or shipping information. They shipped it same day I ordered it. I ordered this after reading on eTrailer's website is was a direct swap out for my Power Center which had a Lead Acid only converter board - this one is an Autodetect model and support Lithium. It was a -direct- swap and very easy to do with only basic tools and about 15 minutes.
Direct replacement for my non Lifepo4 converter. Took about 30 minutes to swap out, including putting drivers away cleaning up. Was a bit worried about the "auto detect" but it charged my LiTime Lifepo4 100ah battery to 100% on the first charge! Beware of sharpening edges, it can/will cut you.
