Thanks for reaching out Kathy, happy to help!

For carrying a bike rack on your RAV4, I'd recommend the B&W hitch # BW47BR. It's a Class III hitch with a 2" receiver and 675 lbs of tongue weight, that's perfect for bike racks and accessories.

Since you'll be using a bike rack, I'd also suggest the anti-rattle collar # e38FV. It helps take the movement out of the connection between the bike rack and hitch. So there's no the rattles or clanks when you're on the road.

For security, the receiver lock # e98881 is a great addition as well. It replaces the standard hitch pin and helps keep your bike rack safely attached to the vehicle when you're away from it.

If you don't have a bike rack, feel free to let me know and I'd be happy to confirm compatibility.

What style of bikes do you ride?

I have this hitch receiver for my 2025 RAV4 Hybrid and it is super easy to install, but quite heavy. It is a class 3 hitch and more than enough for your RAV4 and especially for a bike. But keep in mind your maximum towing is 1750 lbs for a hybrid and 1500 lbs for a gas model which equates to a maximum tongue of 175lbs for a hybrid and 150lbs for a gas model. So keep in mind the weight of the bike rack and if you plan to travel with multiple bikes or even get a heavier electric bike you could exceed the tongue weight. Not trying to confuse you, but I was advised not to travel with a loaded cargo tray for vacationing since the weight can affect my steering, overload my rear suspension and affect my braking. I think riding around with normal bikes is totally fine, but the 675lb tongue weight the receiver can handle is misleading if your RAV4 can’t handle that tongue weight.

Bought and installed this hitch for my 2024 Rav4 last August. Same as you, only using it for a bike rack. No wiring needed. Installed it myself, but I have good tools including a torque wrench with dogbone adapter. Perfect fit. Have carried 2 bikes (upgraded to eBikes a few months ago) over 1000 miles and it is very solid and dependable. Highly recommended.

I’ve installed 5 hitches (mostly Curt brand) but this time I purchased the B&W hitch for a 2024 Rav 4. I was skeptical about the three piece hitch design but after installation I found it to be a robust build quality and perfect for a bike rack set up and light towing. I would recommend this hitch for small to mid sized SUV’s.
