Will Cummins Onan EC-AGS+ Work With Lithium Batteries

Question:
I have a 2022 Winnebago View 24D with a 3600 W Onan propane generator. I’d like to install an AGS but just read that there is some function that won’t work with lithium batteries. We have 600AH of lithium as our house batteries. What is it that will not work with lithium? Is it just a feature or the essential operation of the AGS system? If the latter, Is there a work around or a different manufacturer that has a product that will work?

Hey Steven! The Cummins Onan EC-AGS+ # CM96MR will still work with your lithium batteries. The limitation is only the low-voltage auto-start feature.
Since lithium batteries maintain a fairly constant voltage while discharging, the AGS can't reliably use battery voltage to determine when the batteries are low. All of the other features like temperature-based auto start, manual control, and generator monitoring will still work normally.
Any big trips coming up with the Winnebago?
