Stop worrying about water, grit, and constant bearing upkeep. The sealed Vault system helps keep contaminants out, uses a heat-responsive hybrid lubricant, and needs no lubricant added or changed for the first 5 years.
Once the Vault system is filled and installed, you can leave the lubricant alone. Adding or changing the lubricant is not necessary or recommended during the first five years of service. That means no routine topping off, and the system stays closed while it protects and lubricates your trailer bearings. It's also backed by Dexter's 5-year limited warranty.
Vault uses a semi-solid lubricant that becomes more fluid as your bearings heat up on the road. As the temperature rises, the lubricant flows more freely around the bearings, giving you the lubrication benefits of an oil-bath while keeping everything contained inside a closed hub system.
As operating temperature and pressure increase inside the hub, the attached plug at the end of the Vault cap extends outward. The closed, pressurized system helps keep water and contaminants away from your bearings, making it especially useful for trailers that see wet conditions or regular trips down the boat ramp.
Vault works differently from other grease caps with an external zerk fitting. You can't simply add lubricant through the installed cap. When lubricant service is eventually needed, the entire Vault cap must be removed to access and refill the hub. It's a messy process, but one you shouldn't need to tackle during the first five years of service.
Vault compatibility is based on your trailer's axle weight rating and hub bore size. This kit is designed for 7,000-lb axle applications with a 2.717" hub bore. You also get two Vault assemblies, O-rings, 2 tubes of Vault hybrid lubricant, an installation tool, grease fitting, and Loctite for the installation.

Hi everybody. Andy here with Etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this Dexter Vault Hybrid lubrication kit for your 7,000 pound Trailer Buddy axles. Now if you want a trailer hub system that's basically going to take care of itself, this kit is designed to give you exactly that. This uses a sealed pressurized oil chamber to protect your bearings, which means no routine maintenance. Just install it and enjoy the peace of mind of having this installed.
What makes it even smarter is the hybrid oil that this uses. It starts off thick when things are cool, then it thins as the temperature rises. So whether you're hauling long distances at highway speeds, or you're creeping through stop and go traffic, your bearings are gonna stay consistently lubricated and protected. So this is designed specifically for your 7,000 pound Trailer Buddy axles with 2.717 inch hubs. So this is a heavy duty solution for those heavy duty trailers.
And this kit includes everything that you see here. You are going to get these two Trailer Buddy Vault assemblies. Lemme see if I can set that there without it rolling away there. And then you're also going to get two O-rings, as you can see there. And there, you're gonna get two vault lube tubes, one vault installation tool, one grease fitting, and then a small tube of thread locker.
Now because this system is completely sealed, water and dirt, it's gonna stay out, which is gonna help prevent wear and it's gonna keep you out of the shop. So overall, this is really a hassle-free way to keep your trailer rolling smoothly for the long haul. Now if you happen to have any other questions, whether it's about this kit or anything else that we carry here at Etrailer, don't hesitate to reach out because ultimately we wanna make sure that you're getting exactly what you need. Well, again, my name's Andy. Thank you for joining me.
